Dear Nicolas. I would have never ever added the avocado to the rest of the dish because it was not only not fresh at all, but completely rotten I'm afraid! Despite this, I really enjoyed a lot your video. Go ahead! My advice to see wether an avocado is ripe and ready to be eaten or not when you want to buy one is to check out the point where the avocado joints with its peduncule. If its brown, the avocado is already in bad condition but if its green and the bottom of the avocado feels a little bit soft to the touch, then the avocado is ready and in perfect condition to be bought and eaten! Greetings Luis Manuel from Costa Rica.

@@zozyb1 Although avocadoes are nice in salads; as a vinaigrette; or mashed on breakfast toast; or served on a cracker biscuit; or made into a dip; they are very nice as a dessert fruit. I love gorgeous and interesting serving pieces and basically all beautiful tableware! I always appreciate a thoughtfully and beautifully set table. I also love to get ideas and inspiration from many sources, such as your lovely videos! However, wishing to be inspired it is much more effective if there are closeup shots so we are actually able to see all the items you are discussing. The wide shot was a beautiful establishing shot. However, a medium shot would be better when getting into the thick of things, with cutaways of closeups of each item as you are talking about it. I feel like I missed out on seeing most of the items on your table. I hope you take my advise as helpful and constructive criticism in the spirit it is intended. I started my professional career in the film and video production industry back in the mid 90s and feel like I’m sharing some beneficial tips that will definitely help out. Much appreciation for all that you do. 🥰😘🥰

Hi Nicolas! I share your passion for china and table settings. I love having different sets for different moods and occasions like brunch, a light summer dinner, autumnal Thanksgiving, tea time, etc. It’s so much fun! I recently found a terrific green set made in Portugal that has a slight uneven pottery feel to it, yet it is hard chinaware. That is actually the drawback of the cabbage ware which I also love and have numerous pieces of, that I have never seen it in chinaware but always in crockery ware, which chips so easily. 😏 As far as cups and saucers go, I agree with you so much. Mugs are fine but there’s something elegant and elevated about a fine teacup WITH a saucer. I really don’t like the look of a breakfast table, let’s say, where a mug sits flat-footedly next to the plate. It’s just sad. Lol. - All the best and more success with your channel and business 👍🏻

Hi Nicholas, love your videos of who you are and how you live. Wonderful tips and peaceful watching. Just what we need. Can I make a suggestion re your lidless teapot. This happened to me some years ago and I never wanted to throw out the pot. So I re purposed it. I bought an African violet plant (you can chose which colour that works with your pot), then put some small pebbles inside the base of the pot. Then added enough plant compost that would allow the plant to be placed on top. It depends on the amount of soil around your plant when you purchase it. Place the plant inside and distribute soil around it. The great thing about this is that you can water the plant through the teapot spout. I have tried it with other plants but violets seem to summon up the essence of an afternoon British tea. It really works and would suit your style perfectly. It can even be an addition to your tea table. Hope this idea inspires you even more. Best wishes

If you ever go to Los Angeles you may want to visit the Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the LA Philharmonic. There is a rooftop garden which has of a fountain made out of broken pieces of delft porcelain. This is significant because Walt Disney’s widow, who donated $50 million to the concert hall’s construction, liked to collect delft porcelain. The building is open to the public for free. You have to pay to see a concert but everyone has free access to the building and it’s surrounding restaurants and gardens.

I really enjoyed this video! You're so well spoken and a 'real natural' in front of the camera. Your tea launch is very exciting! I agree with many others - in that - the packaging is beautiful and it's just as important as the quality inside. GOOD FOR YOU! & THANKS To You, I tried earl grey tea for the very first time yesterday. I was delighted with it's aromatic, delicate flavor and was excited to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. :) Keep up the wonderful work! - I look forward to the next episode. Cheers to SPRING!

Congratulations on your teas !! The china is so beautiful ! I have my moms china, but haven't been able to use it much. It is a cream and stormy blue color in a Greek Key pattern with matching glasses. This was from 1960, very beautiful !!

I LOVE the packaging on the teas! Many times for the shop I would look at packaging first and then the quality of the products.... when someone spends a good amount of time designing the packaging they have usually spent a whole lot of effort in the product itself.... bonus is it always looks great on the shelves! hahahah Your teas I would easily fill silver Revere bowls with the packages, line them up on an elegant silver platter or on stacked crystal cake servers... Your tea blends really do sound divine! I really am super happy and proud of you that you are expanding on your collections.... BTW I hope your second date has led to at least a dozen more xoxo Stay happy and safe! xoxo Randolph

Carissimo Nicolò! What a nice collection you are creating! You will soon need a butler’s pantry! I share your enthusiasm for dishes in the form of shells, flowers, vegetables, and animals. Like yours, my collection keeps growing! The most difficult articles to store are cups and saucers as the cups take so much space. Antique cups without handles stack nicely and often have those deep saucers that are so elegant. I grew up in California in the middle of an avocado grove. I know about avocados! You should have asked for a replacement or a refund for the avocado you received. I hope it did not have worms. Getting good avocados is difficult now. Stores that sell them know nothing about what a fragile fruit they are and nothing about handling them. Just last week I watched untrained young man tossing avocados in to a bin to sell as if they were tennis balls. Another day the display gave way and they all hit the floor and were merely put back in place for unsuspecting buyers to buy at $3.00 each. People are not trained to handle them correctly. I buy avocados when I am spending time in Italy. There the green grocer takes them from the box. The molded sheets of cardboard used to keep the fruit from touching and knocking about are used to protect the avocados from bruising. Of course in Italy, the vendor is the only person to touch their veggies and that prevents shoppers from doing the careless things they do. The world needs to protect the avocado from ignorant vendors and customers who create bruised fruit for unsuspecting customers to buy. There is nothing worse than licking your chops all the way home preparing for eating that delicious avocado and finding at the last moment it is inedible and you paid all that money for nothing. Ever went to the trouble to return to the store for a refund? By the time you eat your meal and return to the store, if they are open, the avocado will be black - unless you went to the expense of squeezing a lemon on it - an added expense to make your point…. But a photo might be more helpful. The best thing to do is to live in an area where avocados grow and grow your own - but NEVER eat those avocados found on the ground under the tree……..
