I first became aware of Neils watching a series on TV in the 70's... "Oscar Petersen Presents" I was a rock bass player, but I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. Still feel the same to this day.

nhop is member of a very rare breed of artists sadly most of them gone.like the other few he leaves me with few words to describe him and I suppose I will have to use just the two.PURE GENIUS.r.i.p.

Well I attended NHØP + Wakenius concert in '90 and they both look older here. Nomatter: still tremendous. And today I feel blessed that I got the chance of this sole live concert with NHØP.

This man was the Jaco of upright. Absolutely incredible!

He was one of the greatest jazz bassists that ever lived. his melodic improve on this number shows his great talent. Listen to his harmonics at the very end.

This is not from 1980! It’s more like ‘94-´96, with Jonas Johansen on the drums. But beautifully played, by all of them😃❤️

I wouldn't normally say this - but the drummer's brushes just seem to be getting in the way some of the time. And I LOVE brushes normally. I wonder if it's just the recording?
