KT Fun Fact: In the event some may be wondering, SHS stand for Senior High School. First year (Freshman), Second year (Juniors) and Third year (Seniors) are the 3 classes which make up a Japan Senior High School student body. Which means this band replaces approximately 1/3 of its member every year. Also, KT Seniors will typically have their last day in orange at their Regular Concert, around Christmas time (approx. 2/3 into their Senior year). This allows the Seniors to concentrate on their college entrance exams. TACHIBANA TENSION!!! 💛🧡🖤🧡💛

Hi Nielsons, The traditional song of Kyoto Tachibana S.H.S. or Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Brass Band Club is " Down By The Riverside ". They do play and are known for their rendition of " Sing Sing Sing ". Isn't it interesting that Kyoto Tachibana S.H.S. has more than one way to dance " Sing Sing Sing " depending on location. You have now seen the Band perform it on Colorado Street in Pasadena, California, at Disneyland in Anaheim, California and at their home stage in Kyoto, Japan. They know many ways to dance this song. Well, " Sing Sing Sing " arrived before you two Nielson's were born. Here's a video of the second band to make it popular. I think the members of this band would love to sit in with Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Brass Band Club. KZfaq video: Benny Goodman Orchestra - Sing, Sing, Sing

Tachibana is a type of mandarin orange. Their nickname is Orange Devil.

extra info: The nickname Orange devil, doesn't come from how often they win,the nickname come from that they always steal the show, even when they are not winning. The colors come from a flower in Kyoto. And Tachibana girls often show a really good attitude toward other band, for example there is an video from a Sakura parade i Kyoto, where you can see them cheering every school band and moving/dancing to there music. There attitude and smile make us smile

KT performs all over the world. They've been coming to Hawaii about every three years since 1981. When they perform in Hawaii, they wear their special "Hawaii Uniform". Here is a short (3 songs) video of them performing in 2016 on the island of Kauai. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9FknsVm2Z-7pY0.html

As another commentator has pointed out, the band has another signature tune called “Down by the Riverside” with which they start their street parades. The song is also known as “Ain't Gonna Study War No More” and is an American spiritual first sung by slaves. That choice of music is significant. The band was founded as a reaction against the appearance and music of other high school bands of the time (and still often today), that seemed to come straight out of a military academy. This is another reason why many fans admire the band: its rebel, convention-breaking nature.
