Pascal in the game used this line of thought while educating the robot children, he teached them fear to protect them, and that very fear ended up pushing them to commit suicide. This game doesn't just name characters for no reason. Those names also has a meaning within the plot and the message it's trying to convey, using the same thoughts of those thinkers and philosophers as both a complement of the plot, and to criticize those ideas
