Fun fact, the Nier Automata v1.1 anime, which is a new timeline/branch of the original game and is personally written by Yokotaro, has adapted the Copied City’s Church location. This mod is now semi canonish.

Who ever made this mod has an appreciation for the Drakenierverse They included elements of the Gestalts/Shades from Replicant as well as the 5 intoner statues from Drakengard 3.

Its a decent homage to Drakengard 3 but It would have been nice if this was expanded into two paths First path is a reference to the entirety of Drakengard and the Second path is a reference to Nier Reincarnation since you can equip a Mama skin for the Pod in the End of YoRHa version.

It’s actually horrifying. The machine life forms ark is basically them becoming the new “Watchers”. Given how splintered and more android like Machines are, the next NiER is probably going to be Drakengard but they don’t know they are machines.

I think this is beautiful, like it was already so well made when we were still unsure whether it was real or not, but this was so wonderfully made. You can feel the love and passion in this, I feel this mod adds to the argument of video games being an art form. Well done

My attempt to break down the references: Phase 1: I'm guessing that's supposed to be a copy of Yonah where the flower is within the church itself. The boss itself being NieR. Though, that feels all kinds of wrong. [Boss Model: Eve] Phase 2: The chained status look a lot like either Zero or The Flower in general from Drakengard 3. While I'm not sure what the boss itself is a reference to, it does remind me of Drakengard 1's final boss (Ending E), the Queen-Beast. [Boss Model: Red Girls] Phase 3: Ok, yeah no, that's Zero alright. [Boss Model: Adam] Phase 3-2: More allies for both the player and the boss itself. It's hard to tell, but your allies seem to be Zero and someone else. As for the enemy, the Red Girls-like bosses make an appearance. [Boss Model: Red Girls]

*Slight spoiler* Ngl, I teared up when I realize what the ending was telling the story of. A lot of us has a big care for the Drakengard series. As I realized who's hand that was reaching for the Lunar Tear, when I realized why the hairs of the models in the darkness felt familiar, when I rewatched the ending and realize the placement of the Lunar Tear to the hand was really close to where Mikhail was when the final blow was struck... It is a mod for Nier Autonata to show off new modding capabilities that werent possible before. And they thought about a way to make the reveal, or concept, as near to Niers lore as possible.

Lol, this situation got me banned off Reddit. I said it was a modder because literally NOBODY could replicate it, and everyone was calling me stupid because "the game is leik totally unpossible to mod" (wtf does that even MEAN, bro?). At that time the modding capabilities for Nier Automata werenr so advanced. Tge only thing people were able to mod are Weapon model swaps and custom character. But pretty dumb to ban someone. although that time was filled with controversial stuff that happened.

it edits the map data in the copied city. You need a savefile yourself to get there. You can use Nahm to install it easily

AFAIK Platinum Games, and by extension Yoko Taro, haven't commented about this mod. But I don't doubt they are impressed by the connection made in this mod back to the Drakengard series

It is the same dialogue as in Nier Replicant Its in one of the last areas so search for it if it doesn't bother you to get spoiled if you didnt play it.

The original Nier beats Drakengard 3 by 3 years so the shouldnt be a big problem. Drakengard could get the nier combat formula added to it. that would be good
