I've been trying to find out for days if Emil was "technically" human. Is he? Idk, maybe I'm just desperately looking for something that makes the androids' fight worth the effort.

originally, yes. Emil was a pure human that got reconstructed slightly to be the safe guard of his sister, who was the ultimate weapon. so still very much human during the first half of Nier. after fusing with said sister though..... i honestly dunno. i dont think he is truely human anymore, but i suppose he is the closest thing to a human that exists now, atleast... i think?

This will have a few spoilers, so if you haven't played the first game don't read it. I haven't read all the lore and I'm waiting to play Automata when it releases on Steam but from what I remember of the first game both Emil and his sister, Halua, were experimented on. Halua was the one who was experimented on the most, made to become the "perfect weapon". I guess you could call it a kind of genetic engineering with the magic that came from Angelus and queen-beast (from Drakengard 1) after the battle in ending E. I won't go into huge depths with that, you can look up the connections between the first Drakengard E ending and what leads to Nier and why there is magic in the world. Emil has powers in Nier when you meet him, his stone gaze, but he can't control them hence the blindfold he wears so he doesn't hurt anyone. Emil is supposedly a few hundred years old. maybe even thousands? when you meet him in the first game. He might be immortal. Emil is supposedly the last "real" human alive due to the experiments and how long he's lived. After you fight Halua in the underground labs Emil is able to gain more control and more magic powers from absorbing his sister's powers, but at the cost of losing most of his humanity. Physically and magically he's a weapon now. Because of his human side I think he was able to keep his mind. He sacrificed a part of himself to save his friends.

Humans are already extinct, the council of humanity is a lie made up so that androids didn't lose their sense of purpose when they learned that they had failed in their mission. The transmissions that come from the moon come from a server that contains the data of the human genome, but there are no humans, and in the end even YoRHa was made up to purposely be destroyed by machines after a certain amount of time, eliminating anyone that could still know the truth.

And to think so many people believed he died in the last game, he lost most of his powers and what was left of his body. He sacrificed himself to end Popola from going BOOM to the world and left his old friends behind which he never got to say goodbye to or see again and since nier automata starts from ending E, the ending where Nier is forgotten by EVERYONE then that is one more person gone from his memories. Poor guy!

The way 2B back flips to evade and climb up a ladder and switching weapons mid-combo made me think, wow this reminds me of Bayonetta. Then I found out Platinum Games helped make this game. Awesome.

@@ryanjohnson781 No I don't think she did. But when Bayo does a ledge grab near the end of her jump, she does flip up. Which I feel 2B does something similar. The same can be said when 2B/A2 do cartwheels and back flips to evade. I still can't quite pinpoint it but little things here and there in Nier just kept reminding me of Bayonetta.

@@Kamikazu08 Yeah some are intentional. The sound effect of overclock is the same as witch time. The sound effect of grabbing a ledge is the same too.

Ok i may be late on this BUT what you are saying cant be real. First: You need lvl 70 to even Make him Damage Second: +7???? Last Time i checked +7 Chips do not Exist The Max is +6 Third: Even IF you somehow Manged to make him Damage on that Level, which i consider impossible, It wouldn't be fast enough. He would have more than Enough time to do his "Emil blast" and kill you. Fourth: This Chipset is bad

@@corvuzcrain7145 Chips can go to +8 Vengeance is not you damaging him, but him receiving thorn damage from his own hits at 200% of his damages. And like I said in that post, Combustion is %hp damage and doesn't get nerfed by the level gap. It's an old post but it's still remains true I guess. And yes the chipset is bad, it's made for one situation only, but it does it's job.

But When he first killed me, I searched for a way to defeat him, and I found your comment and thought, "Why not try it?" and it actually worked (I used Combust +6, Auto-use Item +1, Vengeance +5 and +4, Max HP Up +3, Anti Chain Damage +3 and healed myself everytime). Felkhan Whiteball How do you guys make emil appear in map? I just finished ending A-C. During my 1st and 2nd playthrough emil is not on the map. But on my 3rd playthrough emil appear on the map but i cant trigger the side quest emils memories since the luna tear in shopping mall was gone. Can somebody help me?

inukaiversus IDK if you've found the answer to your question yet but if you're using the chapter select option, you'll have to access his shop and get him to talk to you about his home. You have to do this for every chapter selection you make I think, until then you're not given access to his home

You have to complete the Quest before using Chapter Select again, or will lose progress

No. The Game end once you reached one ending, either 9S's or A2's. You can try getting the *Official* ending. The true ending. But there is no story or gameplay afterwards, only chapter selection etz
