The Sun never set in the British Empire in the late XVIII and XIX century were everything was discovered, and the sea trade routes were already made by portuguese,dutch and Spanish. The Sun never set in the Spanish Empire in a time were the new world was truly new and the sea was still untamed, and only the mightiest Spanish treasure and Commercial fleets could tame it. Don't get me wrong I love the british but that quote is rightfully Spanish, I thini you should hace used a Rule Britannia meme, better. It's like using the latin quotes Napoleon said, when they were truly said by Caesar before.

Rapa Nuii well a jokes a joke. And Spain couldn’t sustain that empire for long due to their constant attempts at re-catholicizing europe. Britain, instead of wasting its money on its religious pursuits, put the money back into trade and became an economic powerhouse. This can be seen easily with Napoleon and his Continental system which was made to hurt Britain economically but some argue that it actually strengthened Britain. Especially because Russia’s main export was grain to Britain. Britain truly made the statement true. If u look at a map of the world, there r only about 20 or so nations that have not been dramatically influenced by Britain and her empire. Spain was great, but it simply could not last
