Nevertheless, I am still open to other things. What I hear apart from Metal as a balance is Aurora. She is a singer, songwriter, producer and composer. Started making and writing music when she was 6 years old (in Norwegian), then in English when she was 9. And we're not talking about nursery rhymes here. When she was 9 she wrote "Lucky". An anti suicide song that really hits the mark. The girl is now 25. At 17 or 18 she wrote "murder song 5,4,3,2,1". A song about euthanasia. Extremly good. She really has stories to tell in her songs. You can check it out. It's worth it. She is absolutely unique and real. No fictional character on the stage. What you see, you get. Aurora Lucky - Live Niderosdomen Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Live Nobel Peace Price Concert Nobel Peace Prize was her first major appearance in front of an audience of millions. And then she pulls out the murder song there and also performs as if she was just being shot. The hall was dead silent. For me she is one of the artists of today where I still have hope. She does her thing. The girl carried me away. Should you react to her, I'll give you more information about her. Btw. With her live videos you don't have to worry about blocks either.

@Coyote Ahh, OK, we appreciate the support. We just started our "Metal Head Monday's" you may enjoy getting involved in that. As for Aurora, we have not yet done any reactions to this lady, we tend to go all over the place and have a bit of fun. We may not always go with what is trending, but with something that catches our eye. We will be dipping back into NW from time to time, but trying not to get too caught up with reacting to the same Artists over and over as we started this channel to broaden our own musical horizons. Hope that makes sense and you continue to check us out from time to time.

@@BritPopsReact I forgot to say Aurora is not rock or metal. But I don't want to reveal too much either. Except that "Lucky" is sung live in a cathedral (Niderosdomen) and "murder song" is acoustic. Just one guitar and 2 voices. And that she is very keen to experiment with sounds when she composes songs. She has a few upbeat songs but most of them are of a calmer nature. And she is far from the Trent. For many she has only now become known through corona, because everyone had time. A song that is 6 years old is only now going through the roof. "Runaway" 214 Mio views.

Yep, the tour was about the older songs and some of the songs got a little bit of fresh paint on them. Dead Boys Poem is one of my absolute favorites, 10th man down, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean. Well no bad songs as usual for NW.

I usually don't call anyone out for something, even tough I am known as a Know-it-all. But what is there to get rly wrong? Opinions can't be wrong. And pronouncing stuff in unknown languages is always hard. I like to think i can understand and read english quite well but if you would hear me talk you most likely would die of laughter as I have more like a german accent of american english. I watch so much stuff from the states that the Oxford-english sounds like an accent to me. Enjoy your day as well

@@BritPopsReact I don't follow football (played it - exceptionally badly - in primary school PE lessons, joined the lads for winter because netball is NO fun), though I get excited when we do well internationally, like today! Seriously impressed with the teamwork and how well the players were organised 're substitution, amazing resource management there! 👍👍 It tickled me to hear a load of people in Argentina use the same tune we do! Makes me wonder where it originally came from and who borrowed it from who! :-)

@@BritPopsReact Btw..you reacted to Floor's pronounciation. In the Netherlands, at high school, it is compulsory to learn English and the English pronounciation. In my time, end 1960's and begining 1970's ( oh dear, age telling lol!) we learned the upper class pronounciation haha. Nowadays it is more common English (is that correct to say?) while some young teachers tend to put a more American accent to it due to the influence of the socials. But overall a lot of us can speak English, some better than others depending on their language sensitivity. So...we can learn from you lol!

@Monique van Aken Yes, most other countries put us to shame. During my school years mid 70's it was French they tried to teach us, but it was delivered in such a poor way, we would have offended the French if we every tried to use it!! 🤩

@timomastosalo Wow, thanks for all that information. Just want to say, we often get our own names wrong, so to take that all in pheew We may get it wrong again, but we don't mean to, sometime we just panic when we get to the names!!

@@BritPopsReact I know, don't worry about making it wrong :) Mainly I mentioned the -sh is not found in Tuomas. It's really just Hungarian that does that, and Sean Connery did. I'm, happy you got the uo right, that's the toughest there for an English speaker. I have taught Finnish for foriegners, I'm used to the learning curve. You have a good ear for the sounds, like musical people usually do. And that's pretty much all you need. I assume you're not really needing to learn the language any time soon. You can just say like you have practiced and how you think the names should sound, and just add: 'or something like that (I'm not sure)'. Notice, I complimented you were doing excellently; Emppu and Kuusisto were right. There'll always be a slight foreign accent, if you don't really hear and speak the language. Even Floor who sang awesomely a Finnish Christmas song, has an accent, coz she doesn't speak the language. But Finns are practical, on the average - and musicians especially don't pick on meaningless small details. Those people you'll meet here on-line ... :) If you think there was lot to digest with the info: well, not really :) Compare how you said the names here - you got most of things covered there, what I said. Just if there were some grammat words you had a bit hard time to understand, only compare what you said in Kuusisto and Emppu: you got the uu as oo in English - check, you pretty much doubled the P in Emppu (like the spelling suggest) - just 'hold on to your pee'. Yeah, I enjoy saying it with this letetr especially, I'm that much of a piss head. But the same would go with the names like Emma, Anna, where the double sound is easy to hear, and no need to pee. If ir feels like I'm pverextending the joke, I'd say Emppu would just laigh with you speaking like this.

@@timomastosalo And I said Kuusisto wasn't as right as Tuomas was :-D Maybe I have to listen that again if I misheard it. But yeah, double consonants, rolling r's, abrupt endings, proper pressure on the right syllable, compound words. People of the world have a lot to learn before Finnish reaches it's rightful spot on top of the used languages :)

@timomastosalo Pheeeewww, (quadruple e's rolled) and we were worried people would call us our for not knowing what key the piece was written in!! :) Our first reaction to Nightwish was chaos, we got pretty much hammered for all the names, but it didn't stop us going back for more. We have since branched out and now also get hammered for our female Japanese band member names!! Thanks for all the tips on the pronunciations, we do appreciate it and we do all this with a tounge in cheek attitude. Thanks for watching, it's appreciated.

@@Nrde We can nit pick whether saying the vowels a bit alien in Kuusisto is bigger than the s as - sh in Tuomas. Just don't confuse them when I'm encouraging they are doing a good progress. Both names were recognizable. Just -sh is alien sound in Finnish, besides a few loan words withon the last 100 years (about). And Kuusisto is a longer name, so harder, more chances to do it wrong :) Most importantly the stress was right (in the start), and long vowels long. The short o or -e in the end of wotfd will alwasy take long for Emglish speakers., so we should expect them to success only much later. I suggest to say 'net / kot' with dropping the t in the end - and you're close enough.
