Procession is a song that hit me harder than I expected, I was fine listening to it until they started showing all the endangered or extinct animals species, as the huge animal lover that I am, it made me ugly cry, so every time I watch a reactor, I tend to look away when the song reaches that point. Floor's singing is as beautiful as always, but she also sings bout the birth of a "monster" that monster is the human, the destroyer of life. That being said, I love the darkens and maturity this album has, from beginning to end, I think Procession hasn't been recommended that much because is not their typical headbanger with hard metal, but just as Dominika said its a song that makes us think, and that was Tuomas intention when writing each of the lyrics

Floor has said when she sang this song the first time it hit her while singing the lyrics just what she was singing about, ( a distant future view by the next species of the growth and the end of humanity as a species on Earth) and it really had an impact on her.

This song is not performed live on their current tour...But, this is just one of Floor's finest vocals....The entire Human/Nature album is spectacular, all but "Noise" is a lyric video....Should really give them a listen....

I recognize your feeling: it feels like I am in a church, a sacred environment, where the sacrament is revealed. The way Floor Nightwish sings and accompanies, evokes the feeling of being in a sacred environment. Her voice evokes devotion. Sounds full of reverence for creation, awe of the Creator God of this universe. "Procession". We humans are but one species, one single element, one single grain of sand in the Sahara in the endless procession of creations.

Tuomas say in a interview, he never hear Floor so emotinal singing.

There is an interview of the master himself where he explained that this song is the heart of the album the very first song he did and according to him he never heard Floor so emotional but powerful ever. I guess we can all agree on that. The most impactful piece of lyrics for me "After all we should have not appeared" and "Spaceship Earth through the fields of time", "They understood, as along came wisdom". I hope we find the wisdom to understand sooner than later looking at the state of our planet with the droughts and other weather catastrophes we have at the moment... some of them because of our actions as mankind..... Because then the line "We will remember all the suffering" has hopefully never to be written by our future ancestors.... 😞

What you must remember is that this is nightwish's second language. Floor's first language is Dutch and toumases first language is Finnish and to me the lyrics to their songs are amazing and this comes from an English man 🤟🇬🇧🇬🇧🤟

This is a phenomenal story - told by Floor in one of her most emotional performances ever... Now - imagine - 1000 - 2000 years from now, an alien being from Andromeda meets another alien being from another galaxy - and the first one should describe the humanity's impact on the blue planet Earth from galaxy Milky-way... This could be the telling...

Tuomas philosophers and storyteller. He does not just write songs, he argues, pays attention, philosophizes. In my understanding, this song is about extinction. For some, this is a sad topic, but in fact, the history of life on the planet is the history of extinction. Some species of living beings are replaced by others and most of the once living species have become extinct. This is the law of evolution. Humanity is also part of this procession, we, too, will someday cease to exist as a species, and only artifacts will remain of us. If other intelligent species exist after us, they will study us according to these "writings" artifacts. This song is another reminder that we are part of the overall process of life on this planet and we are not able to escape any of the fundamental laws of nature.

NW has several beautiful songs connected to a world of science and scientists recognized that by naming 3 brand new species in honor of Floor, Tuomas and Nightwish. One of those you saw in your last video (Floor beetle). Most members, if not all, are drawn to that world (Floor wanted to be biologist, Tuomas wanted to be marine biologist, Marko is drawn to Astronomy...).

A very lovely reaction to such a beautiful song. I am always amazed at how Floor is able to sing the complex lengthy/wordy lyrics that Toumas creates in his music. There are just not that many vocalists that could accomplish singing them within the space allowed and the breathing required. Not to mention she is also doing it with such beauty, precision and power. We as fans know what a gift Floor and her talent represent, however the icing on the cake is beyond all of the technical and breadth of vocal gymnastics she is capable of, it is her ability to communicate the music and lyrics vocally that touches our very soul. She is profoundly one of a kind and I feel blessed to have been moved by her performances.

Lovely reaction. I love every song from Human Nature I think it is their best album and really shows the maturation as musicians and artists. Floor would really enjoy being called a sweet angel! This song does have a reverence about. For Tuomas and the whole band nature is their church and this song celebrates and asks us to care for it. The songs on Human Nature are all connected and tell our story (Disc 1 Human) and nature (Disc 2 Nature). Definitely worth doing reactions to each song in order and there are beautiful lyric videos for each song. The pandemic prevented them from touring in support of the album so they made lyric videos for each song. Disc 2 is a gorgeous 30 minute orchestral piece with 8 movements and a stunning final movement, Ad Astra, that is the last song of the current tour setlist.

It's a song that might feel small and simple at first, when you hear it in the middle of that album... But if you listen to it isolated it becomes clearer that it is a very special song.

Tuomas, Floor and all of Nightwish are lovers of nature and animals. This is a little warning about our role in the natural world and our responsibility to be a part of it. The lyrics are very deep as they come from a universal perspective commenting on the evolution of plants, animals, humans, and how our impact affects the natural world.

Its not only you who has trouble finding the meaning of Nightwish songs.....Tuomas is in a world of his own and a wonderful wordsmith I often think he must have a degree with honours in English language (are you sure he's Finnish?) but you interpret the songs in your own way that gives you a meaning, coupled with the visuals. Have you tried the Nature part of this album (30+ minutes) along with the accompanying video.

This song was not one that really grabbed me when the album first came out, but it's a real grower and I absolutely love it now - another work of pure genius. I would really love to see you react to every Nightwish song, live if possible but if not available then studio versions. My personal favourite Annette era song is Meadows of Heaven, it's a truly beautiful song that just gives me goosebumps every time. 🇫🇮 👍‍This song about the evolution of life & progression of mankind on our planet is my favorite on the new Nightwish album because of the storytelling & Floor's amazingly emotional & touching vocals. Even Tuomas said in one interview that for him Floor's vocals in this song are the most touching he's ever heard before. Being somewhat of a science geek, I'd like to interpret "we" in the lyrics as those evolved beings that have created this simulation that we humans now live in, i.e. it's science fiction for me, although many renowned scientists also believe that we live in such a simulation or even in a series of nested simulations. Another possibility to interpret "we" in the lyrics is to say that it refers to all the fossils & man made objects that have been used as proof of life's evolution and mankind's progression to what it is now, just like the broken tablet at the end of the lyrics video will be one of such objects to some post-human race after mankind is gone.

You are a lovely couple and your wishing to get into the lyrics and the meaning is spot on. Apparently the song only ‘hit home’ on Floor herself on the third or fourth run through. A very large part of Human. Nature is Tuomas taking Nightwish down the path of environmental awareness.

Dominika, please don't ever get down on yourself about speaking English. The truth is, you both speak English very well. English is a horrible language to learn due to we have so many words to describe a single thing. Spelling is ridiculous also. So many rules, exceptions, letters that are silent, letters that don't make their sound, it goes on and on. You should be very proud of how well you do speak English, being a 2nd language. Don't feel bad because even us with English as a first language need to really think about tuaomas's lyrics to understand them. Often the lyrics are so beautiful I don't care if I don't truly understand them. I just know they have a meaning to tuaomas and I just feel the Beauty of the whole composition.

And of course Tuomas is writing in a foreign language to him.

Dominika - I only speak one language, and that is English and you speak better English than I do. The entire Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human Nature is really about us and Mother Earth. I will not do this song yet, but Once you are ready The Greatest Show on Earth is a mush and it is about Earth, how t was born, how humands ended up here and how we will be all gone one day

As someone commented earlier, I wasn't too impressed at first with Procession either, compared to the other songs on the HUMAN. :II: NATURE. -album. But after a while I started to like it more and more. Now Procession is my favorite. Floor's voice ripples like a mountain creek. Perhaps the most emotional song on the album... with the message that the time is running out.
