The lyrics of Nightwish are rarely mentioned, but are amazing works in and of themselves. And it's a "Floorgasm."

Nightwish is very unique while they can - and does it all. They are incredible. Toumas, keyboard and writer, are considered one of the best writers currently - and combined with Floor and Marco (bassist, badass and brilliant vocalist), Empphu, Troy and Kai - kept together by an also unique chemistry between them all - you have got something unbeatable, where limits don't exist. The Poet and the Pendulum from Wembley are a perfect example, and maybe you should just hear, and I mean really listen to every facet of it. Then we will fill you in afterwards - I promise you that you will get caught, believe me, it's a masterpiece, showing more of Nightwish's capabilities. If you want more Nightwish where Marko is singing more you have to check "Kiss while your lips are still red" from wembley or" Islander" from Tampere show.. or older stuff from end of an era concert Helsinki where he does pink floyd cover "HIgh hopes". It's probably worth mentioning what some lyrics don't mention (is it mentioned on the Nightwish site guys). The song usually starts with Marco speaking from the point of view of the male of a pair. He says that he knows that you (the female) has been in the kitchen for three hours on their anniversary, but he just wants a simple meal. At the Wacken 2013 concert, he leads with a statement regarding this with specific meal names, then mentions that he wants a specific sausage (German's help here) and finally says "I love sausages, that's Romanticide" - so yes, it is meant to indicate the argument and the end of a relationship. Nightwish Army, fill in my blanks...

Romanticide = killing the romance, or death of romance; (romantic + cide (pesticide=killing bugs, homicide=killing people, suicide=killing self)).

I think that a big part of what makes these reaction videos so engaging is that it allows those of us who've heard these songs before to vicariously experience them for the first time, again. So please, keep going! xD

Marko Hietala the bass player has his original band which is called Tarot for which he has always done most of the singing for. One of the original Finnish metal bands but they will not be performing anymore after their drummer died. Check out their video Wings of Darkness if interested. Both 2000's and 1980's versions are great, maybe you could react to them back to back. You won't recognise Marko in the 80's one unless you know it's him. He also released his first solo album "Mustan Sydämen Rovio" just this year. He will release an English version of the album in January called "Pyre of the Black Heart" (Which is actual straight translation).

There are also some other songs with the words "dead boy" besides "Romanticide". By the lyrics of "Dead Boy's Poem" from "Wishmaster" it could be deduced that it might mean Tuomas himself because in that song "dead boy" is a "songmaker". "Dead boy" is also mentioned in "Last Ride of the Day", which is a happier song with more hopeful lyrics and "Song of Myself" both in "Imaginaerum". Additionally he's in "For The Heart I Once Had" and "Escapist" in "Dark Passion Play" also "Beauty of the Beast" in "Century Child". I wonder if in the end the "dead boy" is a reference to little bit similar "Lost Boys" in J.M. Barrie's "Peter Pan".

I love people experiencing Nightwish for the first time, i'm so glad you liked it! Anything from that festival is gold, but apart from that Yours is an Empty Hope and Poet and the Pendulum are something you would like to hear!
