Trent's music satisfied my adolescent anger, got me through my social anxiety as a teenager and a place to escape from my PTSD that started in Kabul afghanistan. Nine inch nails isn't music, it's a place I can go not to be happy but to reflect and face down what once terrified me into submission. More then music it's a place as tangible as the phone I'm typing on and I sincerely appreciate what you got me and so many others through Trent...

Literally that. It feels to me Literally that with the only change being from war to sexual and emotional abuse. Everything Trent makes becomes a place I can live in, safely and truthfully. Being all that I am, I can just release myself and be free in his music. I will never stop thanking him. He pretty much saved my life many times.

This is perfect for today. I am sick and tired of this frail body of mine. Crippling arthritis. Psoriasis. Cysts all over my body. Two strokes in 5 years. And to top it off, end stage renal disease, on dialysis. Today I have made the decision to stop going to dialysis. I have never felt more at peace.

Nine Inch Nails has always and will always be my favorite band. There's so much in all of this music that will pass you by if you don't pay attention. NIN is the place to go for anyone who loves creative and interesting music that can hit hard and feel deep. I've spent my whole life listening to this music and I'm so happy to see them continuing with this amazing work and getting the recognition they deserve for it.

My father passed away a few days ago. I *did* have a really bad night last night. And you know what? Knowing that there's gonna be a tomorrow, there's gonna be more music that I love that evokes feelings in me that somewhere out there someone gets the pain I feel, that there's always a reason to keep going... Knowing that stuff helps. Thank you, Trent. I appreciate you for all you do and I look forward to this album.

It sounds a lot like GHOSTS I-IV but you can tell they've also learned a lot since making movie scores. The atmospheres in the back of this track are much better than the 2008 Ghosts stuff.
@LuisMercadoorg4 жыл бұрын
Totally. This truly feels like a cohesive selection of soundscapes.
@jazzynyc_994 жыл бұрын
definitely far more cohesive. I-IV generated some good tension here and there, but it was undercut by some ineffective noodling at times as well. They are in complete control here.

@@donalddavidking He led The Cure into the R N R Hall of Fame only to join afterwards, he won multiple Grammys for his outstanding work as a composer. Manson has achieved nothing near his success. Don't get blinded by scandals and PR crap. Marilyn Manson is and was nothing compared to Nine Inch Nails. Don't forget that most people who know Manson, aren't fans of him. I like his older work a lot. But from an artistic standpoint he was never on the same level as Trent Reznor.

Nine inch nails is the last refuge of a broken soul, defeated by life and rejected by humanity. This band is for the outcasts, the people who never fit in and who are looking for a way to express themselves without being cruelly rejected and marginalized by the very people who rejected them in the first place. I see that this a long arduous journey from person to person rejection until finally we find the right person, but they reject us because they see how damaged and ugly we are in the first place. Then we end up alone again. In the twilight, we have hope. When the candle is snuffed out, we become even uglier and more defeated. We see that the world is evil and hypocritical. Then we are painted black. We become monsters under the decorative war paint. We gear ourselves up for a fight. We rebel and fight as political and moral dissidents. We see the world as it is truly ought to be seen: a world of moral hypocrisy and innate corruption. We realize in all that, that we've adapted. We've become monsters because this world is cruel, and the only way to fight monsters is to become a monster. We have to deconstruct the world so that we can officially survive it in the flotsam and destruction that is left. We have to destroy the world so that we can be at peace one day.
