tim Pütten In Awakening I'm pretty sure player units keep their outfit colour to distinguish them from "normal" (allied or enemy) units, they also have tiny little features that identify the character. For example, player units will always have the same hair colour you see in their character portraits, hair length and styles also changes in the sprites to match the character, as well as any other distinguishing characteristics (like how Owain's sprite shows his "Sword Hand" pose, or how Lucina's sprite always shows her hair accessory).

I figured it out around the 20 second mark when the pegasus rider showed up. When I saw the horse rider and swordmaster at 0:39 I knew for a fact it was Fire Emblem.

TheQu500 In Fire Emblem Awakening, the characters didn't have feet in battle scenes and in-engine cutscenes because they weren't sure if the engine could handle it. It turned out it could, so they made sure to add feet to the characters in the next game.

Yeah, Awakening is truly excellent. Not my favorite Fire Emblem, but still excellent. Some veterans are just hating on some of the changes Awakening did. But yeah, I highly recommend trying out other games in the series. If you like Awakening, you won't be disappointed. :)

I agree with you :o My first FE game was awakening as well and i found it pretty good. I also tried out Radiant Dawn and still playing it. It's fine if veterans hate on the game but it's not a crime if the newer gen like awakening, right? ( I'm no veteran but saying that we are a fan of it is al-right c: )

For every death scene there needs to be a cutscene type scenario with dialouge from them and the person they were paired with. (E.g. *sumia dies paired with Chrom* *goes into cutscene* Sumia: "I-... I'm... s-...sorry......... Goodbye..." Chrom: "Gods... Don't die on me!!" *cutscene ends and sumia is dead) Each cutscene could have a low resolution easy-insert background for each stage. Each character would have a death and dead ally dialouge

The "marriage and kids" thing from FE:A has actually been done before in the series. I don't remember the name, but it was a Japan-only title. So in a way, it's not losing it's identity, it's picking a cool concept done in the past and making it new again.

Jaekization I think the gameplay of FE is better suited to a handheld, but I'm still waiting for SMT X FE for Wii U and I'm expecting it to have a very different gameplay because otherwise then the crossover wasn't really necessary.

TylightDark How does one "accidentally" marry characters? If its similar to FE:A, it should be simple to avoid certain conversations. I don't see whats wrong with adding Gay relationships for the people that want that. Personally, if it was an option, I wouldn't do it, but just because I wouldn't doesn't mean they shouldn't add it.

I also think they should bring back the avatar and the relationships between characters that gave a lot of dept to the combat secuences and I also agree theyshould integrate more children into the plot not just one *cough* Lucina the only one *cough*

GamersBlogX There are two ways to "accidentally" marry characters in FE:A. One is building support relations and choosing to see the wrong S rank. The other, more common and frustrating, and wanting Chrom to marry certain people. If you want Chrom to marry Olivia, you CANNOT achieve C rank with any other female. The moment you do, regardless of whether you view it, Chrom will not marry Olivia. Olivia's support points with Chrom must the highest the same chapter you recruit her. Ergo, it's easy to accidentally have Chrom marry some one else if you wanted him to marry Olivia. Or, Maiden, but I can't imagine some one wanting to have that happen. o.o;

AkaiAzul I just spam the save button before I do any support conversations... Although Usually I already have determined who is marrying who before I pair any characters up. Plus if you accidentally pick the wrong S rank, thats on you.

If they remove custom characters, that would let the player's unit be in major cutscenes (movies). In awakening, the only time "you" we're in a movie was either first-person or if you were only in the shot for a second or two (with a hood up). No custom characters would allow slightly better storytelling, but at the cost of a small portion of the "actually being there" factor.

Now is it the most interesting in the series? Maybe, that depends on the person. From my stand point it wasn't the most immersing story, but i still enjoyed it. I'm more happy that the series is still going then caring if it's going to have super in depth story ( which would be nice of course ). So please stop repeating the same thing on why you don't like awakening. I think one time is enough. ( unless you're in an in depth discussion on the game with someone then restating your points is perfectly fine)

I definitely agree with the varied missions point. And the time travel aspect was not awkward to me, because they made it make sense. It was essentially "the god of our realm used her god powers to send us back to save the realm." It's hard to argue against that. Also less broken skills. With Galeforce, you could actually beat a chapter in the first turn by killing an enemy then killing the commander. I also agree with the better story point. I really liked the story from before, but like all games, the sequels need to have improved stories. It annoys me that people call the story weak, considering in the last FEs, the only one to have a better story (even though I didn't play it, just read the story cause there's no way I can find the game and play it), is path of radiance, and maybe radiant dawn.

How about multi-objective missions? Could that work out? Come on, guys, get the opinions flowing

StickFigure Maybe a time skip where you re-recruit characters. I liked that in Blazing sword. But not recruiting with a very specific character that isn't a lord. It's a waste of space in my army in a battle, when I have to bring a crappy character into battle. Also they should use the recruitment music from the previous FEs. The music in smash to be slightly more specific. I could listen to that music all day.

Luis Villalobos I've only played Shadow Dragon and Awakening, and I liked how in the latter in the child missions you could just simply recruit him/her with Chrom, in case you didn't know who the mother was or she was underleveled, so I'd like to have that option back. Also I think they could get very creative putting different objectives in a map: "go to this place" -> "defend it" -> "prevent the enemy commander from escaping" etc. It could really demand more attention and careful strategizing, which would be cool.

That would actually be awesome! It's been a while since we played as a non-perfect army (much as I adore the shepherds). That'd defiantly shake things up.

I'll tell you why the REAL fire emblem fans hated awakening. It's because it created a bunch of frauds that call themselves "fans" and treat as awakening as a waifu simulator and refuse to play any other game in the series. In other words, Awakening created nothing but cancer. Kinda similar to how Persona created cancer too and treat SMT as a waifu simulator.

2.- Awakening had bad modeling for a 3DS game to begin with, I doubt this will be 3DS exclusive, it's just that the development team has already gotten better at developing for the system, it's natural for sequels to have better graphics and if it was going to be New 3DS exclusive Nintendo would have already said so, because so far the only New 3DS exclusive game is the port of Xenoblade 1, the other games like Monster Hunter 4 and Majora's Mask only add minor things like C-stick support.

Yeah, it was pretty fantastic. I think they'll bring back the marriage aspect, just not the children aspect. They wouldn't do a time travel plot device again immediately after Awakening, so if children are involved they'd have to do a serious timeskip. And there are theories that customization is back, but in the form of a lord. Of course that's just a theory.

If avatar, marriage and children are not back.. It MIGHT be a no-buy for me.
