Maybe this game stars the Fire Emblem and MegaTen characters as modern high school students (I can't tell if these characters in the trailer look like past protagonists simply because I want them to or if they actually do). Or maybe this is a set of new characters that will come across the FE and MegaTen during the plot. Or maybe this is a crossover in terms of gameplay and themes rather than plot....

Or just call it Persona X Fire Emblem. Seeing that the character transform it could be the new characters have the powers (fighting style or what ever) of the Fire Emblem character and maybe SMT characters. Looking at the design of the gameplay shown it looks very Persona-ish and it looked like the Male and the Female character had 2 different transformations each so it could be something like changing Personas, but instead you're change the spirit (or something) of the already existing characters. But the battle system is what really looks different, where there seems to be a time meter, with each character taking a slot of the meter... since there didn't seem to be an input in between each turn (along with the combo counter) the actions might be placed first, then action occur in order of the meter. It looks like it'd be good, but is it too much to ask for a SMT game to look like a SMT? It's way too bright and cheerful, with a focus on high school students. Not saying it's a bad thing, but I really don't play SMT games for "bright, cheery, happy wifus", I play it for it's dark and serious story. I feel that it might either scare or confuse SMT fans.

***** I'm guessing it's more of a thematic crossover rather then "Franchise A meets Franchise B". It definitely looks like an RPG rather then a stratagy game. A few interesting notes,0:52 looks like an open overworld, rather then menu navigation. 0:56 Is that Tiki? Also looks more like a FE setting. 1:07 Looks like an Active Time Battle system. 1:19 Apparently, the characters can fight in their street clothes. 1:25 I'm guessing the protagonist is standing on the edge of a floating island or temple.

TheBlackBloodNinja It's actually headed by the leader of the Devil Survivor games, so I can definitely see the resemblances there. That being said, I'm expecting it to be in realm of the Devil Survivor series with battle system elements of the FE series. The story, while seemingly bright and Persona-ish, are likely to be more influenced by Devil Survivor, where the setting is bright and kinda care-free, but the situation is not.

So like you would have your turn to attack / wait. If you attack, the battles would play out like Persona ones, but your party has only one turn per member, like FE, after all the animations are done for the attacks and the enemy attacks, its the enemy turn and so on.

As for FE: The "Mirages" who aid the characters in fighting are characters from Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and from Fire Emblem Awakening: Chrom, Caeda, Cain, Virion, Tharja, Draug, etc. We also see Tiki in this trailer, as well as a Gangrel Mirage boss. The playable characters, the Mirage Masters, take on character classes from Fire Emblem, based on the Mirage whom empowers them: Lord, Pegasus Knight, Cavalier, Archer, etc. We have Pegasi, we see what look to be enemy Dark Knights…..

In fact, when Hyrule Warriors was first announced, it recived alot of negative reactions because nobody liked the idea of a Zelda game becoming a hack 'n slash instead of the traditonal gameplay. No one knew how the game was really going to turn out. But once it was out, the game become a decent sucess. And with SMT x FE, the results are about as similar as the first HW trailer. Reciving alot of negative reactions, and no one knows how it'll turn out because it's in a modern Japan setting mixed with serveral of the FE characters. Sure, everyone thought it was going to be like it was in the trailer before, but fans were still mixed on the idea of crossing two franchises that had nothing to do with each other. And it's not just about what the box title is, it's about how it'll turn out in the end despite the game's title.

It's a great opportunity to cleverly introduce characters from both series to each other, and in turn, introduce fire emblem fans to the SMT series and maybe convince them to buy the games (I was going to buy a few to learn a little continuity, but I don't see the point now that they've thrown continuity out the window), which would actually help atlus. But this etrian odyssey x project diva x persona game doesn't seem to be in the spirit of either games, They seem to just be thrown in, which isn't really what i'd call an adequate crossover.

I'm not complaining about the game, I'm complaining about the fact that it was announced as a crossover of FE and SMT, but I can't see the SMT in this. Not even a shot of Louis Cypher, iconic demons or characters from SMT. I didn't see even a single Jack Frost. I don't hate the game, just the lies.

TSP Jack Frost was shown, briefly. My guess is that Fire Emblem characters will be taking the place of demons, which frankly is what I expected would happen.

The triangle System is there, and the persona are fire Emblem characters as well as the bosses. Seriously you would have to be blind to see that Chrom combining with his master is obviously suppose to be reminiscent of Marth (of which Chrom is actually a descendant of Marth.) Its easy to see what is FE in the game. Its easy to see what is persona in this game, the problem is its just not what they should have focused on... I don't think fans of either series would associate it with Jpop.

Fake Emotion but the trailer had all SMT characters so we EXPECTED an SMT esque game, if they put persona characters instead we would have expected this. I'm not complaining though, I like persona better so I like this better than iron age stuff c:

Yes, Persona is a spin off, but it's a different thing, don't get me wrong, i like persona,and still is just a teaser so we can't judge the game, but i wanted a post-apocalyptic game like the original line of SMT
