Paragliding and driving underwater? It's like adding some Speed Racer elements to the already fabulous Mario Kart series. To you ladies and gentlemen over at Nintendo, you're doing a great job, and I'm looking forward to its release as I already have a 3DS.

Nintendo is very smart releasing these big mario titles during the holiday season. I do not yet own a 3DS but between this & Super Mario Land 3D I will be buying one in the very near future. They alone sell the 3DS.

So far the players you have to start with on Mario Kart 3DS are Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, DK, Toad and Koopa!! There looks like there'll be room for unlockable players too!!

Really excited for this. Hopefully it comes out somewhere in mid august or at least near the end of this year. As for the coins, I hope that they are there just for the 3D thing; unless it adds more competitiveness to the game (though hopefully it's an option when playing online online).

Well... looks like Diddy Kong Racing isn't the only retro racing game featuring Water, Arial and Land vehicles anymore. Back when Mario Kart 64 came out, Diddy Kong Racing was quite a competitor, but it never caught too much on, after the N64 era, while Mario Kart kept going onto each new Nintendo consoles, and now, 14 years later, I finaly see Mario Kart having a resemblance of innovation with Diddy Kong Racing... That... is really sweet.

the thing that im grateful about is that since 3ds has wifi and it works on dsi's ds lites with the wifi you can play the game without 3ds

man i got a 3ds a month after launch so i can play all the kingdom hearts games tht came out for the ds and the 3ds kingdomhearts that is coming out and now i see all these cool games coming out that remind me of my childhood like luigi's mansion all the mario games that are coming out and i cant wait to get all of them it will make the wait for the kingdom hearts shorter

@Realmusicngaming No, Retro Studios is only making the Donkey Kong Country stages in this game.

@lorodoscar I can think of two good reasons for that: 1) They're in development, as in, the final name hasn't been decided yet in some cases. 2) It's been 20 years, Nintendo can afford to use the same name again.

hmm... i guess the wheels affect the speed and weight (smaller wheels= lighter but slower, bigger wheels= heavier but faster) and the cart body affects power up, along with weight slightly, and handeling (mabey). THIS WILL BE EPIC!

This looks great! Can't wait to play it. However the hang gliders, underwater propellors, and big wheels kinda remind me of a game called "Penny Racers" which I had on my PS2 a long time ago, where the cars could be modded with wings/props/big wheels etc, still they're great ideas and to see this in Mario Kart is excellent. Good job nintendo!

@ScatyFan Indeed, for me it's a good signal, it's the Mario Kart 64 theme! If there was something I loved about Mario Kart 64 was the serious themed circuits in it (along the more mario themed ones) I hope this game gets what it deserves and surpasses Mario KArt for the Wii.
