Fuzzy Bearbarian well, I'll still be grinding nioh 1 until then. Fucking underleved for way of the samurai and the dlc shit. Btw, should i play the dlc right after NG or should I level up on way of the samurai first? The amrita it gives is quite decent.

If you're still stuck after watching this, try stripping off and going completely armorless. You'll be killed easily, but the extra i-frames you'll get from massively high mobility will help you with dodging through attacks. Being so light will help you practice timing the dodges. You can also run around that shed and it will help protect you a bit from everything except projectiles, so you can have a breather there. Good luck. You've got this.

Multiple buttons is hard, especially in Nioh with guarding, ki pulsing, stand switching and lots of skills etc. I have arthritis in both my hands which make it hard to play and hurt when holding controllers, so I hear you. Sounds like you're not on the default controller layout though, which has guard on Left Button and dodge on Circle. Try that and you should find it a lot easier.

@@tremorism Thanks for that. I am not on the default because I think attack should always be using the triggers, not buttons, so I switched from the default right at the start.I am 74 years old, so the hands are my biggest handicap though.

Just gotta get your timing right. If it's frustrating at first, keep trying, because this isn't the last time you'll be fighting this boss and you'll be happy later if you learn to do it now.

If you're right up in front of him and dodging you'll go straight through it so long as you don't time your dodge too late. He doesn't have one move that can't be dodge through, so it's just a timing thing to get used to. When he does a grab that can result in him sawing you, his arm kind of gets the smokey/other realmy look. At 1:55 he does a grab move with the other realmy arm and you see me dodge right through it. Don't stand just ahead of him though - that decreases the i-frame window. Stand right at him, pushing your face into his bits. That's the place to be. When you stand right in front and against him it not only gives you more margin for error, it also increases the odds of getting backhanders instead of grab moves, so the number of grab moves should be limited to only one or two or even none for the whole fight - and since his grab move also can't kill you from full health you just have to keep doing that and dodging forward through everything and popping a health when your health dips below full to be safe, even if he does get you with it. If you're still struggling with that, try dodging his arm attacks to the forward/left. Dodging forward has the game kind of push you to the left, but if your timing is out, pushing forward/left will help too. I'm also assuming your weight/armor encumberance isn't too high...

I had the same question so I tested all high stance. I figured if high stance was fine then all stances are fine, and it is.

Wouldnt dodging in low stance be faster? Idk if its just me but my character fat rolls at high stance using kusarigama(nioh 1)

@@imaginewagons3777 Yes and use less ki. I did all this in high stance because showing that proves you can do it in any stance. Your fat rolling though will be encumberance based more than anything. Believe it or not, I find this game easier with zero armor on for both movement, i-frames, and ki. But I'm experimenting with armor's as I go so yeah.

Not in how to guides. I avoid using anything like that in guides unless it doesn't matter. I guess Yokai shift doesn't matter since it's so weak and short, but yeah, I generally just try to show an easy way to fight with whatever you have in your hand.

Your level doesn't really matter in Nioh as much as your build. But, to get the most out of your build you need to allocate stats and unlock extra skills/passives etc, and for that you need to increase your level. Early game in Nioh it is pretty much pointless to grind levels as you can't really create good stomping builds until NG+. You're basically meant to go through the game and learn the mechanics early on, get to NG+, complete that, then start crafting builds by mixing gears sets etc. It's kind of a learn first stomp later kind of game.

It only gets worse lol - but then it does get easier later. Honestly, Nioh 2 is harder in the earlier regions and then it slowly gets easier.

No. In action mode it's 60fps but that's the cap. Still pretty good for PS4 Pro since the visuals are good and there's plenty of action going on at times.

@@willpowell1036 Thanks. Also comments like this make me happy I'm doing spoiler free thumbnails for Nioh 2 bosses. Reminds me there's plenty of people not playing it immediately who may not want to see what bosses look like until they see it for themselves.

When you press dodge, be sure to KEEP holding guard down at the same time. I highly recommend practicing what I'm showing here as it will do wonders for you playing the rest of the game. Just remember, use burst counters. I don't in this as I'm trying to demonstrate, but burst counters timed right will drastically reduce how long it takes to beat him, and therefore shrink the time of the fight thus reducing your chances of getting hit and losing. And if it's giving you the shits really badly, take a break and come back to it. Fresh minds make boss fights go way smoother. Good luck man!

Are you using a wired controller? If you're not, try that. If you are, then honestly, it's just practice and getting a feel for timing.

Also, strip off all your armor and get a feel for dodging with no armor on. You'll find the extra mobility helps with timing dodges. Give it a shot. Not just one or two runs, but a quite a few to get a real feel for it. Just remember, hold guard while you're dodging all the time, and try to time your dodge for when the attack is going to hit so you i-frame through it.

@@PrbLDoom Lol pretty funny when you put it like that. My girlfriend was trying to beat Mezuki and struggling until I told her to stop using the wireless controller. She beat him immediately after. Wireless controllers can definitely screw up timings so I'm sure it will help.

Lol. He's meant to be skipped and you're meant to come back to him. He's there for veteran players who want to unlock the shortcut straight up when replaying, saving you from doing the whole level on subsequent run throughs. So it's actually really good design in that respect, although maybe they could have given some kind of hint that you could skip him I guess 🤷‍♂
