Turning off grapple gives you access to some satisfying zero-ki combos. Getting in two hits plus a final blow is much more damage than a grapple, but the cost of this is that you don't get the cool animation with i-frames, which is useful against groups. I used Legendary strategist armor here with Benzaiten weapons and +15-16 gear.
