The Last Samurai visits Nishi Honganji temple in Kyoto and explains why there are two Honganji temples in Kyoto. He also introduces Hiunkaku, the beautiful pavilion which is not open to public usually.
Nishi Honganji temple is the headquarters of Jodo Shinshu sect of Buddhism which is the largest sect of Buddhism in Japan. And it has one of the largest wooden structures in the world.

Wow... What a beautiful complex! Hiunkaku's asymmetry is a rare thing to see! And the grandess Goeido and Amidado is inspiring! Also I can only imagine how beautiful the Ginkgo tree is when in bloom! Thank you very much Samurai!!

thank you very much for another great video! i had visited nishi hongaji before (higashi hongaji is one of my favourite places to visit, its so peaceful, and in summer its amazing how comfortable it is inside) and was really impressed by the beauty of the sacred tree. one day i hope i get to see hiunkaku!
