Had mark1 Juke, 1.6 engine, only driven in sport mode, drunk petrol, but could eat snow covered roads, my wife loved it. Traded in for 1.2 Qashqui, once again no problems, after 2yrs changed to Mk2 Juke Tekna, only driven in Sport mode, achieved 59.9 mpg! Just traded in for Hybrid Tekna version, what a difference, running in Standard mode increased power and economy, town driving a breeze, increased confidence pulling away at junctions. Heated windscreen, seats and steering wheel, Bose sound, pro pilot, what’s not to like. For a couple in their 60’s driving round town, picking up grandkids listening to Spotify, it’s lovely!

To take your handbrake niggles away, ensure that the auto-hold button behind the brake switch is on. Unlike e-pedal, this stays on after shutting down the engine. I've never had to touch the main handbrake switch since I got the car last year with this button on. Automatically disengages the handbrake as you press the accelerator, and automatically puts it on as you come to a stop, if you're pressing the brake pedal - you get a green 'A' with a circle around it at the bottom of the dashboard when it is engaged.

I have the Tekna+ version of this car! Same colour as your review car apart from mine has a black roof and bigger wheels and nicer interior. My girlfriend has just ordered the brand new version of this with the new interior with the bigger screens etc.

My 73 plate Tekna+ doesn't require you to disengage the hand brake to move; you simply apply the accelerator when in gear. Disengaging the hand brake allows it to gradually creep (possibly to do with the hold feature?). You missed the heated steering wheel with the heated pack? It's a neat little car, the new CHR might be next in a couple of years when this ones lease is up! ;-)

Hi Simon. It is something you see on a lot of cars with E brakes. That you don't need to manually disengage but simply pull away. Apologies for missing the heated wheel. I plan to get the new CH-R for review this year so keep an eye out. Dave

How many miles is the range only in EV mode (besides the 35 miles speed)? 🤔
@AutoBears

Thank you for your comment. It's not a huge distance just on pure electric. I would say approx 3-4 miles tops.

The only downside I've found with mine is that the passenger seat belt lock which is attached to the seat is really low down , so my disabled wife has trouble buckle and unbuckling the seat belt as it low and jammed between the seat and centre column

Thank you Neil for your comment. Thank you so much for your feedback. That was not an issue I would've considered.

The hybrid version isn’t more powerful than the regular version. The regular version is far more powerful than the hybrid version, that even in eco mode. But here is the fun part, the normal version is set to 114 pk, the hybrid 135 pk, however the max speed for the regular version is 180 km and the hybrid 165 km. So… there is that. Is it noticeable? Yes, yes it is. Driving a shift gear juke, is more fun and in my opinion a far better version than the hybrid. What you save in petrol, you will pay extra in weight with your taxes. A lot of things you said is pendant on which version you drive. I’ve got the tekna shift version of this car with some extra options on it. Actually the max options you can get. Yes that is with the special bose driving chairs, which sit a lot better than the regular versions.

I assume that you're talking about the regular 1.6 petrol version? That is no longer available, and hasn't been since the launch of the hybrid 1.6. The only petrol version that you can now buy is a 1.0l (actually 999cc). I had one of those for three years, and if you don't drive in sports mode, it is very easy to stall pulling off quickly from a standing start. It's fine for long distance driving on dual carriageway/motorway, once up to speed, but town - or traffic jam - driving is a chore. In the old 1.6, you could easily stay in second at slow speeds around town, even pulling off in second without too much trouble. Congested driving of any sort in the 1l version is a blizzard of gear changes - it is impossible to pull off in second, and you are constantly shifting 1-2-1 as the traffic creeps along. The 1.6 hybrid is great. Being automatic, you do not have to worry about gear changes, and with the e-pedal system installed, you barely need to brake in congested driving. The low regenerative braking force put on the wheels by that system when you take the pressure off the accelerator is usually enough to slow you down as the traffic speed changes. I wouldn't go back to the pure petrol version, unless a bigger engine is offered again, which is unlikely in the current climate. (pun intended) However, I think I'd be overruled by my wife, who loves our current version of the car, as it is so easy to drive.

@@gargk999 this is simply not true.

@@loststar07 Which bit? The only non-hybrid engine available is the 1l petrol, which is gutless. Having had it for three years, driven it in congested town driving, plus at least 6 x 1000 mile drives to Scotland and back, with the regular congestion on parts of the M6 and all of the M42, I can attest that it is a tiring car to drive in such traffic, due to the multiple gear changes needed.
