The Titan's steering is so heavy its almost uncomfortable at first, and takes some time getting used to... but you really begin to appreciate it after a short while. Now I don't feel like I could go back to a light steering truck, just to many little constant corrections required to stay in your lane. I'll admit it, the Titan spoils you. xD

Atleast with nissan you get 100000mile warranty bumper to bumper and my dealer offers 1000000 mile powertrain warranty. Plenty of dealers do it and they have great deals on them as well. I wouldnt really worry too much especially with the warranty you get. Every manufacture has lemons and i think theyre all pretty solid. I honestly think nissan and toyota will outlast all the others in reliability.

I've been researching half tons for a while now. Nissan wasn't even on my radar. I'm not a Ford guy. More of a Chevy guy but their interior is cheap ass and having a nicely loaded '19 Blazer I didn't want to lose some of the creature comfort items. I don't have trust in Ram reliability and the Tundra is aged. I gave Nissan a hard look last weekend and bought my first Nissan ever, 2020 Titan Pro 4X in white on Labor Day. It has everything I wanted and for what they include as standard like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and other driver safety features it's hard to beat. Add in that great sounding great running 5.6 V8 and it's a no brainer. Toyota Tundra design is now behind the Titan. Thanks for the review.

Excuse my bad English folks. I purchase a brand new Titan sv 2017. At 17000 kilometres, the engine begin knocking. At 24000 kilometres, in June 2019, Nissan replace my motor (short block). Now this month at 35000 kilometres my motor knocking again. It is always the cylinder number 7 who is problematic. Real epidemic trouble. In my small town we are 3/3 with this trouble. On Facebook pages, I’ve seen A LOT of cases, I see guys who are on third motor on 2018 model. Also see people with this problem on 2019 model (Titan, armada.) Nissan seems to don’t have a clue about this problem. The 7 speed transmission on 16-19’ model doesn’t works well too, and seems to be change very often . Long story short, run for your life, you can see a video of my titan knocking on my profile. I swear to god, I don’t beat the truck at all really lite works sometimes.

Guys, I appreciate you taking the time out to review these trucks. I don't understand the logic in your review. The Tundra is going on 10+ years without a major refresh, has a smaller engine, less horse power, less gears in the transmission, no locking diff, less miles per gallon, less features and functions, Shorter warranty period, The only thing more in this Tundra is its price. I'm afraid to see how you 2 would do a comparison between an iPhone 4 vs a Samsung S20. Its not emotional appeal, its brand bias.

I purchased the Titan for my business as a write off, I love the amenities more than the aged interior of the Tundra. The value was undeniable, and you both (reviewers) are more partial to the Tundra. No bedlining, no foldaway step to get in the bed. The Tundra holds it's value, but idk, it's written off as a depreciating asset, or capital tool (whatever your CPA thinks is best). Titan is underrated simply because of Tundra being in the segment for so long, thats it. BTW, RAM trucks are trash anyway, the service centers can never figure what's wrong with them. The Titan will outlast the Ram 1500 with the HEMI. The paint on Nissan is the only strike I would have against it.

I like the storage and cleaver things like the seats, truck bed design, etc. of the Titan, but the Tundra felt more solid and better built. Also, I prefer the port injection reliability of the Toyota 5.7 over the Titan's direct injection. Bought the Tundra TSS Off road (Gulf states option) it came with spray on Berliner, 20” with aggressive wheels and other cool stuff. Much more comfortable than the Nissan on long distance driving. I also like the auto-dim rear view mirror and headlights. I leave it on tow/haul and it will rocket off a stop sign faster than Nissan. I have also towed a fully loaded 6x12 uhaul trailer from San Antonio to Hampton Va. with absolutely no issues with handling or through the mountains. 2nd week of owning it, had to rescue a developer who drove 35 yards into caleche. Easy-peasy! Also the double cab has a full drop rear glass and best of all, Nissans rust. I haven’t seen a rusty Tundra in NYS yet. We have gotten as much as 23mpg.

My truck/SUV ownership has ran the gambit of the most of the top auto makers. Ive had few Fords, a Dodge (when it was still just Dodge), a Chevy and a few Nissans. Never had a Toyota but a couple of close friends have swore by them for years and I will agree they are dependable trucks that give great service and insane resale value (all of which I'm reminded of constantly). However, after looking at all the brands in the half-ton market over the past 6 months, I pulled the trigger on a Pro 4x Titan last week and I couldn't be happier. In my humble opinion, most manufacturers are setup to run about the same nowadays. As long as you take care of the truck, it will "generally" take of you (a horror story can be found for each brand if you look hard enough). For me it came down to personal preference and the deal. I was already in a Frontier, great midsized truck, and was able to swing a better deal staying with Nissan than switching to another brand. I also feel like I got much more up front, for less money, than a "comparable" Ford, Chevy, Ram or Toyota. Especially in the areas I was concerned with (creatures comforts, warranty, capability and price).

I like both truck but I chose the Tundra TRD PRO. Why? There were still questions about issues with the Titan which made me pick the Tundra. Couldn't find many people with extensive miles on the Titan to verify if it would compete with the Tundra on Longevity. HOwever, I really like the Titan too....it would definitely be my second choice especially if they offer the incentives on it that were on the 2019 Titan. By the way the exhaust has never go old for me yet on my TRD PRO love it.

After doing a ton of research when recently looking for a new truck, I started off wanting a diesel Ram (repair costs REAL high), looked at Titans (not many on the road At All), the diesel Titans are a real mess, and ended up with a Tundra with the 5.7 and lots of goodies on it. LOVE the truck, and if you don't like aftermarket parts, get something else. =) The Tundras are the Jeeps of the aftermarket world and man, the engine really sounds great with some shorties on it! Can't wait to sort out the rest starting with an open CAI.

The Tundra is more " AMERICAN " made, designed and sourced than any other half ton truck ( all Tundras made in San Antonio Texas also ), however it is owned by a Japanese company ultimately. I own a 2016 Platinum Tundra, did my homework before purchase, was very surprised to learn it was like a virtual tie for " AMERICAN " made with only the F-150, which in rear seat comfort was not even close. Then Reliability, it had to be the Tundra. I do like the Titan look, though many don't. The dual exhaust is wonderful and nothing cruising on highway, and I'm 57 yo, you guys are way to young to even think of the exhaust sound, you want to hear what you bought 😀. Nice review, thanks guys.👍

@@MrInzombia.... Designed here, parts sourced here, and employing many "AMERICAN WORKERS "to build them. I don't call that crap. What i do call CRAP is American truck companies building and or sourcing their trucks parts from other countries. Plus a Tundra will outlast, and resell better than anything built by the Big Three "American" truck companies, the truly sad truth. Do your homework next time you buy one of your" American " made trucks. I did say, ultimately, the company is Japanese owned, but it does an awful lot for the American workforce in many ways. I'd say San Antonio ,Texas, is probably pretty pleased with the Tundra plant located there.

Actually what is interesting is that surveys have shown that the Tundra is the most expensive half-ton pickup truck to own since owners spend so much more money on gas than any other truck, despite the fact that it spent less time in the shop. In other words, any money you save on maintenance and repairs you lose at the pump with the Tundra.

Part of what makes the Tundra look larger than the Titan, from the front, is how high the top of the windshield is on the Tundra. The Titan, the sheetmetal came down farther in the front. Depending on the seating position, I wonder how this would play into visibility at traffic lights. Would you have to lean forward in the Titan to see the lights overhead?

You can still get the Titan as shown in this video in 2023. Toyota radically redesigned the Tundra now and I like it a lot less. For those wishing they could still get the old school Tundra with the V8, the Titan is the closest you will get. Also, the Titan Pro4x is now by far the most bang for your buck among trucks. You get one fully loaded for $10-15k less than upper level Fords or comparable Toyotas.
