Wow had no idea so much coolent would come out on e the hose is disconnected from the driver side. Since I was replacing my at same time I was swapping radiator so system was free of antifreeze.. so now I know lol

Thanks, Stan! Yep, if I planned ahead, ideally, this task would have been done when I was replacing the radiator. Oh, well. Most of the X owners are not necessarily likely to replace the radiator when their heater core hose connectors/Ts burst... :)

Thank you, Moe! Yep, there’s always some regular maintenance or preventative maintenance to be done on these aging trucks. I love it though! Each and every modification makes the X even more and more reliable!

Great Video.. Thank you .. The Aluminum piece is a nice upgrade from Dorman. I am just curious what those plastic Tee's (at the heater core) even do ? Could you just remove those an run a piece of hose without them.. I know a regular hose wouldn't have the factory bends but its an idea..... Thanks

Thank you! I agree, you can just install the hose directly to the firewall and not need intermediate piece. In Pathfinders of the same era (2005-2012) they had an extra line for the rear heater, so they just adapted the same hose/plastic connector for Frontier and XTerra.

do you think it's important to use the coupler part, or just go direct with the hose to the heater core outlet? is the hose long enough? almost looks unnecessary, but what do i know, i didn't engineer the motor.

I just changed out my heater hose on my 2016 Nissan frontier, my heater is blowing hot air. Coolant is full and temperature goes high. Could my thermostat be a issue?
@MaximumDIYGarage
@MaximumDIYGarage 10 ай бұрын
Hi William, yes, check your thermostat. But also make sure that you burped the system properly to expel any trapped air.

Sorry my heater is not blowing hot air

That’s what I thought you meant. You likely have air in the system, that’s all. Don’t replace the water heater until you burp the system. Park on an incline and open the coolant reservoir cap, then run the truck for 10 minutes allowing the bubbles to come up. Just be sure not to look inside the reservoir while the truck as running to avoid scalding injury: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNuWp6tozdq7ZH0.htmlsi=V7ybn9QMilnj8yIL Or this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iKuajM2atJ7ceac.htmlsi=1gNtJRjVJlr8tQNJ

Truck is running at operating temperature. Alot of air came out of the reservoir and radiator

When you pulled the hose off the engine on the passenger (inlet) side, did the coolant gush out like it did on the driver's side?
@MaximumDIYGarage
@MaximumDIYGarage Жыл бұрын
Hi! No, it didn’t gush out nearly as much as it did on the driver’s side. Still, a good idea to have a pan under there just in case. It’s a messy job otherwise.

@@MaximumDIYGarage Thanks! One more question. Did you need to "burp" the truck after doing this job?
@MaximumDIYGarage
@MaximumDIYGarage Жыл бұрын
I did. Just parked it on the include with the reservoir tank cap off for 10 minutes and heat on full blast
