Tamiyos Journal could be a good addition to this deck as it makes a Clue at your upkeep and you can sacrifice three clues with it to tutor for any card

just wanted to thank you guys again, every since I started watching you guys I can see an obvious improvement in my deck building. Other channels might recommend good cards to put in a specific deck but you guys explain yourselves so well I can take the ideas you talk about and apply them every time I am building a new deck or tuning an old one!

Love this. I’ve been wanting to build a Lonis clue deck but when I went to try and build it, it just turned into a UG blink deck and that’s not what I wanted, so I kinda gave up. I’ll definitely be taking cues from this list. Also, finalllllyyy someone else is on the Resculpt train. I’ve been trying to tell people I think it’s better than Reality Shift, but I’ve felt kind of alone in that. Thank you! Lol

Great video, I really love my Lonis deck. Mine is a bit different, trying to have fun with Karn-Struct type creatures. I was def sleeping on that investigating spirit creating flyer though. Thanks for the tip :)

The old Peregrine Drake + Deadeye Navigator combo is broken with Lonis together with Thousand-Year Elixir and Clock of Omens. Get all your opponents' permanents!

Heroic intervention is so you don't have to counter the board wipe, you let it resolve and you keep your board while everyone else loses it. If they counter it then you use your Mana Drain and fierce. Depending on the circumstances it can be a win-con, you have a crazy board, and others have a decent board state, but they are willing to sacrifice their board to get rid of yours but instead u keep it and they lose theirs. Well, now imma scoop lol.

just want to add quickling is an awesome spot protection spell in this deck, it triggers Lonis' ability and can then return him to your hand (which isn't a problem because he's only 2cmc

That is not how regenerate works at all, unfortunately. Regeneration does not mean that the creatures die and then come back

The comments on the beginning of Misc cuts reminded me of my friend in my playgroup. He has a Wilhelt "Zombie tribal" deck that only has 12 zombies in it :D Just last game he was wondering why it didn't do anything.

Heroic intervention could be a big tempo swing. Countering a boardwipe also saves 2 of your opponents board states. Where as Heroic intervention only saves yourself and makes everyone else play catch up. Plus if there is a second boardwipe to take you down, that's the one you can counter

My own personal Lonis deck is… frog tribal. Yeah, Grolnok came out and I know, that’s a frog commander. But Lonis is just so good and so on curve! If each of the frogs you play gives you a clue that’s just fantastic value. Plus, his stealing ability nicely reflects the Peer Pressure strategy of the frogs!

I think a wincon missing is shrieking drake + academy rector + fleeting memories. It allows you to go infinite with casts, make infinite clues, and mill your opponents out one by one. It also just lets you get infinite mana if you have parallel lives or any clue doubler. Its not the easiest to pull off, but its very fun and synergistic. Same goes for intruder alarm * mana dork for blue and shrieking drake.

I’m gonna have to try this. I made a Lonis deck but didn’t really put any wincons in it so I just ended up stealing everyone’s creatures which pissed everyone off and they’d take me out 😂

Ulvenwald mysteries seems okay. Not for the clue generation but for the tokens. Sacking clues on lonis gets you 1/1s and so even getting 10 clues to go in on lonis gives you 10 1/1s. I feel like it's an alternative wincon.

My thoughts as i am work on a lonis deck. I want to go the aluren, glen elendra pranksters, and coiling oracle and the like 3 casting cost or less with etb to abuse

Memory Lapse and Submerge are great cards in Lonis, allowing you to steal opponents’ creatures!!

Rise and shine is also a good surprise alt win con whenever you have oodles of clues (and treasures and food)

I highly recommend Ashaya as another win condition with Quirion Ranger if your playgroup is ok with infinites. Ashaya let's you tap creatures as forests, Quirion Ranger bounces itself to untap any creature that's not sick, use the mana to recast Quirion, rinse and repeat. With Lonis and academy manufactory or tireless provisioner that'll get you infinite tokens. Ashaya is also just a good value creature, and having all creatures trigger your tireless pair is sweet!

Clues dont need to tap to sacrifice them. So ursa makes every 2 clues a free draw.

I built this deck with academy Manufactor and thassa deep dwelling and other self blink cards to speed up clue generation. And then graf mole to sack clues to gain a crap ton of life, and then play cards that increase card advantage with creatures and change my millions of clues into creatures to swing for damage.

One thing I really miss is Shrieking Drake. Combine it with academy manufactor/Urza and you have infinite clues, add something like Kinnan/token doubler and you can literally cast your whole deck. Another thing I kinda miss in upgraded decklist is Rampage of the Clans.

I was very excited for lonis, and I wanted to user her ability so badly but my deck kept ending up in some simic infinite value loop instant wins just because ininfite artifacts is so busted. I had to make a spreadsheet to calculate clue counts with doublers + academy manufactor

Great video as always! I do have a point of disagreement: I think Gilded Goose is absolutely worth an include. It’s worse than BoP in the first couple of turns but after that the potential synergies make it way better imo. It’s another token interaction for Academy Manufactor or the token doublers, another artifact to use with Urza or Shimmer Drake (or the Clock of Omens in my build), another artifact to sac to KCI, etc. Or, in the words of the nerds: what is the floor/what is the ceiling? I think if you compare you’d end up wanting the goose in more situations than the other one drop mana dorks. Edit: Fixed Clock of Omens (not Unwinding Clock)

Urza is actually 2 clues to draw one, not 3. Seeing as clues do not tap to activate you can sac one of the 2 you tapped for mana to draw.

I don't think Druid of Purification can see CEDH play because the Turbo player can take out the Root Maze or Rule of Law that is stopping them from winning the game. The mana cost isn't what's stopping it, as having a body attached to a very efficient removal spell is exactly what slow and grindy stax decks (which a lot of are green) want. What they don't want is to give a chance for a combo deck to go off when a key stax piece is removed.

ADD - Shrieking Drake: (u) When Shrieking Drake enters the battlefield, return "A" creature you control to its owner's hand. Such an easy card to go infinite in that deck. And if you don't play combos you can still make as many clues as blue mana you have each turn by casting it and investigating and the bouncing it back to your hand.

ok so, before i watch the entire episode here are my suggestions: avenger of zendikar, scute swarm, zendikar's roil, howl of the night pack, second harvest, panharmonicon..........easy sources for tons of free creatures 2/2 or less

I found one of the best cards to mess decks like this up yesterday. it's called "Hum of the Radix" it's 2GG for an enchantment that says artifacts cost 1 extra for each arifact you have on the table. so if you mass produce clues, guess how expensive that sol ring you cast on turn 5 is gonna be? Lonis is one of the few decks I would play dorks over enchantment and spell ramp, Seton is another. I put homeward path in decks where my commander is very important + there are alot of players that play expropriate, so I just pick money and they lose all their stuff again, but in decks that want to steal stuff, of course not.

The trick is utilizing the clues for extra value to get ahead. Having lonis in the command zone always ensures that you've got the resource you need (clues). I think I put lonis in a yarok deck. Could even build with a clue subtheme. Marionette master in a lonis deck sounds awesome.

Hard disagree on Ulvenwald mysteries. I gives token bodies whenever you sac a clue for any reason. That includes Lonis. You can also post wrath crack a bunch of clues to fill your board with an instant speed army of tokens. And it even has synergy with the other token producing effects. It's one of the best token payoffs and if you expect anyone to be playing wraths or removal it's 110% worth the slot.

With Urza every 2* clues is a card to draw since you can sac a tapped clue because clues don't need to be tapped to activate. What CAN'T Urza do?

You cut rite of replication!? Target the academy manufactur with it kicked and you basically just win. Making one clue will net you 243 clues, treasures and food tokens. If adrix and nev are out, it's 118,098. You can't tell me the clue deck doesn't want 118,098 clues...
