Thanks for your videos! After catching snakes for 45+ years, I caught one last month for the 1st time WITHOUT pinning his head first. Followed your example (4.5 Ft Blake rat Snake), & he was SO cool, never tried to nip at me even once. I took him to the closest tree line & released him (got him out of the road). Looking forward to the next catch & release! (Sometimes, even an old dog can learn a new trick!).

Hah different areas diferent styles... I never pinned a snake in my life and caught quite a lot during a period over 10+ years... I let the harmless ones bite me, use gloves for other ones... :)

You can count annuli on the turtle scutes when they are young, before the annuli get too narrow to count or worn smooth. The box turtle is approximately 4 years old.

good afternoon! thank you so much for always uploading. i am here in austin, texas. i have used your videos as partial guidance for others to avoid snakes and be able to identify them in their hiking adventures, and i was wondering if the next time youre in texas, if you can do a herp around the austin area? it would really help me and my friends feel more at ease with our pups! we currently live in a neighborhood with a TERRIBLE rattlesnake problem, and now my neighbors are out killing any kind of snake they see. i always see how misunderstood snakes are through your videos. thank you so much for shedding light on the pitbull of the coldblooded community. theyre really not so bad!

Hey Noah, sorry I am just getting to your video.......had a really shitty day yesterday. Your video cheered me up. That hognose was a trip like you said with it’s gaping mouth. It’s funny how they play dead like they do, but at least you got to see it being all “tough” before he died. Lol. I absolutely loved that second rat snake!!! I loved it pattern and it’s laid back attitude 🙂. As far as the red bellied, I like the black ones better......especially if they are really dark. I’m looking forward to you going on your trip because it always leads to good content (not that you don’t always put out good content 😉), it’s just nice to see different places since I can’t afford to go anywhere. Thanks for another great video and I can’t wait till the next! Stay safe and take care! 😄💙🐬🐊🐍

Nice large ratsnakes. What you say about their behavir holds for the European four-lined snake as well. They are somewhat nervous as youngsters but tend to chill out as adults. They have the nickname of gentle giants. Also I didn’t know that hognoses opened their mouth for display.

@@NKFherping Obviously good to know, Noah...........although I have yet to come across one of these guys I shall now forever be wary to pick them up and figure the worst thing I'd get is comparable to a bite from a racer or common water snake. I know there are several rear fanged species here in the US but learning this about Hognose snakes is most definitely eye-opening!! Thanks for the quick response buddy! Jim C.
@ErrorInvalidName
@ErrorInvalidName 2 жыл бұрын
You wouldn't be affected by the venom unless you're allergic to it which most aren't. Remember watching a video on a breeder that his friend had the hog bury his lower thumb in it's mouth and refused to let go for a good while lol. He had to have a few hits of epi later that evening.

Hey! Unusual comment here! I don’t know if you’d be interested, but I would love to try editing a video or two for you on a trial basis! I often hear you say in your videos, that you have to go edit videos, and i was just curious if that was something I could take off your shoulders! I’ve been filming and editing skit & random montage style videos for about two years, and have loved reptiles for a long time! Not expecting an answer, but if you’re interested, feel free to get back to me here on KZfaq!
