It’s partly cause NME’s “505” track was, as suggested, in 5/4 time signature. It’s quite impressive and enjoyable, usually seen in jazz and sometimes even rock! Usually most loops are in 4/4 so this was probably refreshing for the judges! I do agree that both sides made amazing music and god if I was a judge I wouldn’t be able to pick for the life of me!

The judges determined that Inkie used cheating (ex 03:48) and drove all votes to NME immediately after the battle. You can watch their reaction during Inkie's round, including battle versus So-So. Of course, Inkie didn't use any cheating. Th happened because judges (especially MB14) hardly use complex sound effect. That is why Inkie Judges next year though he is not a GBB champion. Inkie actually mentioned that he will not participate any battles after Multiverse battle in his instagram (now deleted) because he felt malfeasance.

The judges also take into account the fact that this year people were allowed to use a 2nd device. Which is something Inkie highly relied on. That's one the main focus on the RC505: you have a limited amount of effects, so coming up with original combinations and ways to loop is highly rewarded. NME's used very basic techniques but that had a great outcome. I'll agree, Inkie is amazing in terms of sound design, but when it comes to looping with an RC505 NME did better.

Если первый раунд у него был достаточно интересный (и в плане мелодии, и в плане ритма и техники), то второй - абсолютно обычный, самый простой, квадрат за квадратом. INKIE - это что-то новое. Не хочу говорить, что за ним прямо "будущее" loop-битбокса, но всё то, что он делает - это уровень. Начиная от любого звука, саунда, и заканчивая общей композицией трека. Да, возможно, это не для всех, некоторым в принципе неприятен такой "нейрофанк", но если не давать ему баллов только за жанр, в котором он выступает - нужно ли вообще сталкивать разножанровых чуваков на батле? И ЕЩЁ Очень странно видеть, как MB14 кайфует с Юры, а балл отдаёт NME. INKIE, как минимум, достоин финала. NME - good, no doubt, but not at 5:0. Yes, he has a musical ear, sings well, but on the other hand, he frankly cannot control the bass. The first his round was quite interesting (both in terms of melodies, and in terms of rhythm and technology), but the second one is absolutely ordinary, the simplest, square by square, monotonously INKIE is something new. I don’t want to say that he is the future of loopstation-beatbox, but all he does - extra-high level. Starting from any sound and ending with the overall composition of the track. Yes, perhaps it is not for everyone, some people in principle dislike such a neurofunk, but if you don't give him points only for the genre which he performs - do we really need the battle between the multi-genre beatboxers? Battle in which he wins, just because his music is for a wider range of listeners. AND It's very strange to see how MB14 gets high from INKIE, but the score goes to NME. INKIE deserves to reach the final

do you know why? because he used a certain second device, which allows him to pull out strong notes and chords, maybe prerecorded sounds (not sure about that but it's very likely). that's quite unfair compared to NME. they couldn't evaluate the battle on the quality, so they choose NME judging the amount of skill of both.

What Inkie has created is so special and I love it, but...this should be a birth of another sub genre in battling in my opinion. He’s using a different level of vocal processing you can’t even compare with a standard loop station. This category needs some tech limits I think. That being said...I could listen to him literally for hours! 🙌🏼

yeah me too, maybe they choose NME because inkie use the new RC loop that can make instanly good sound, the different is, inkie just need 1 take to make chord progresion or effects, but NME need some takes maybe 3 or 4 or 5. and the effects also easier to make in the new RC. maybe Next GBB should give more rules about loopstation like the new RC are allowed or not, and what i see is the judges not objective and fair to judge, all of us know Inkie make the insane music.

Not really. In 2018 Beatness had two great rounds, while Inkie only one. For me, that was an easy decision. This year I understand the disagreement, but I also would have voted for NME (I know It doesnt matter)

@met co The problem is, INKIE relied MUCH too heavily on his second device for creating his sounds, which is why I would assume the judge's decision was 5-0 in favour of NME. Even if people think INKIE performed better (I personally thought the battle was 100% even), the reliance on the second device takes away from the raw looping skill. One of the reasons why TIONEB dominated PENKYX at Semifinals 2017 is not just because of his monster 1st round, but because his second round, though not sounding nearly as good, was so incredibly difficult to execute that the judges (being loopers/beatboxers themselves) had to respect that. THAI SON's rounds were of much lower quality than NME's, despite being "difficult" to perform. I would say that the 5-0 vote is a little bit too much; 4:1 would seem much more fair to me. Personal opinion.

Пацаны, я там орал как мог 1:20 , 1:58 , голоса потом не было, всю энергию отдавал, и после того, как судьи приняли решение я был опустошен. 😩 Юра хоть и не показывал, но было понятно, что его это слегка зацепило (скорее не поражение, а 5-0) INKIE лучший! Guys, I screamed as much as I could 1:20 , 1:58 , all the energy I had gave to Inikie, and after the judges decision, I was devastated. 😩Inkie, was restrained, but it was clear that the decision made him a bit sad (probably not a defeat, and 5-0) INKIE the best! Yes, Inkie is an extremely good looper and his routines are seemingly perfect, but I still think that NME deserved the win, because his routines are much harder to do on stage. Now I'm not saying that there is no effort in Inkie's routines, BUT I do think that his routines are easier to do once you know how he does it. Also if you listen to all of Inkie's rounds and pay attention, you will notice that his routines have all pretty similar structure and patterns.
