Lots of jobs to do over winter. Here we are painting the cabin, rewiring all the electrics, repairing the cockpit floor, changing the bobstay shroud, fitting a new IPad holder and portside midship cleat, fitting the cockpit tent properly and remaking the boom crutch. Also some boatyard expansion news. enjoy.

Greeting from Britanny in France. First, congratulations !! I just discovered your channel and it’s a great source of information / inspiration for whoever owns - or intends to own - a Shrimper. I love this tiny little boat. I’ve been sailing a family shrimper 19 over the last 20y but as a kid I was only interested by the fun part (the boat was always on a mooring “ready to sail” and the whole maintenance was outsourced to a shipyard nearby). Now that the rest of the family is not longer interested, I start to get interested into the whole thing of owning a boat and am currently gathering information, so many many thanks for sharing your experience. If one day you publish a video on rigging up/down the shrimper for trailing purpose, I’ll be your biggest fan (and I’m sure others will) because there is so little resources online about this operation. Cabin roof looks much better. Hope the mould is kept at bay. I liked the switch box you made, very neat.

You could have mounted the new port side mid ships cleat at 90 degrees for it to be less intrusive with no detriment to its holding power!

You are absolutely right of course. I mocked it up in a number of positions and orientations but it just didn’t look right 😊. The kids (both in their 20s) also complain that the cleats dig into your back when lounging against the bulkhead 🙄 cushions have been purchased

It's looking good. What sort of paint did you use on the ceiling?

I used Hempel brilliant gloss. It went on quite easily and seems to have dried to a very smooth finish. Certainly far easier to wipe clean.

Hi, I don’t know of anyone local. My sailcover and one of the cockpit well covers are from Covercare in Emsworth. Covercarestore.co.uk they seem to be well made and have lasted.

Hi - another interesting video! The weather is still too unsettled in the Hebrides for doing much but I"d like to change the bobstay shroud cover as you did in the video. I've been completely unable to source the cover though so would you mind sharing where you bought it? Thanks! :)
