Жыл бұрынLargely unedited footage of Vicar's first sail proper sail of the season. On the Dart between Ditisham and Galmpton, it's about a mile across there.
Light wind, very shifty coming down the river and around the bends, gusting from 0 to 12knts. Mid tide flooding so variable current going up the river.
One reef in, not because of the conditions, especially three up, but just to test.
I strongly suspect that the boat is faster upwind with a reef in these conditions though.

Hello, Really enjoying your videos, especially as I have owned an Etap 21 moored off Dittisham. Looking at a Shrimper 19 with a diesel inboard. Any suggestions for key things to look for from your expy? Thanks Peter

Glad you like them! I would look at the buying guides on the Shrimper owners association website, they’re full of useful information. Obviously general condition of the sails / woodwork etc. the hull is very robust but ballast is iron punchings encased in resin in the keel and some boats have experienced oxidation here which causes swelling into the aperture for the swinging centre plate. So check if the plate drops and raises with ease.
