Also, it may be a strange ask but any chance you guys would be willing to touch on weathering this crisis when you are also going through losing your partner? I heard that my ex-partner is happily shacked up with his new woman while we all hunker down🤮 and I wonder if this will bring him and his rebound closer together…would love to hear your take on how to deal with all of this while the world has completely turned upside down... thanks! 🙏

Videos on Top this woman in particular seems to keep coming back in my life. I think it’s truly because I’ve gone into no contact right away, gave it time, let things go and moved on assuming I’d never hear from her again. I’ve always focused on learning relationship skills, developing my own skills, hitting the gym, setting goals and really just becoming a better partner.

Well if she came back 6 times after getting rejected every time then that sounds excellent on your part (though it can be a nuisance, happened to me as well). But if we are talking about getting back together and breaking up repeatedly, it sounds toxic and you better hope she doesn't come back again haha, nobody is worth all that drama and energy.

After a 5 month separation of my girlfriend of four years, she contacted me one day about “our cat”. During this time I had really just focused on myself, gotten sober, changed jobs, and worked on my mental health. I learned to be comfortable with being alone. Now we have been together since December of 2022 again. We have a better relationship than we ever have, but I know if things were to not work out I will survive just as I did when we were separated.

I am writing this to the people that are hurting, waiting for their ex, a girl/guy their talking to to reach out during no contact. I want you all to know that some day it will be okay. Even if they don’t contact, they don’t necessarily want to get back together sometimes. But the fact that they reached out to you after God knows how long is a BIG win for you! Celebrate the wins. I pray that your relationship with your person rekindles back. If had some type of connection with this person and you do no contact VERY WELL, I guarantee you, you’ll feel so much better! Not only will it allow your ex to reach out but it will allow to you to grow and become an even stronger person than before. I’m saying this through personal experience and I’ve grown a lot and working things out. God bless you guys

As someone with an undergrad degree in Psychology, with a core focus in Social Psychology, I have to say that everything Coaches Craig and Margaret say is dead on. When a breakup occurs and a strong attachment exists the person doing the dumping is experiencing the negative arousal of Cognitive Dissonance. To overcome this they use the phenomenon of Confirmation Bias. Initially they only look to confirm they did the right thing in breaking up ignoring all else. This protects them from facing the negative feeling associated with their decision. But, because negative memories fade faster than positive ones, that they start to remember the good times more than then bad. This leads them to swing the other way, grieving what they have lost. But this is just my 2 cents.
@christinewatson19894 жыл бұрын
That's some really good insight. During this time I've been really concerned my ex's GOOD memories will fade. Luckily, we had SO many amazing memories. It is encouraging to know the mind will amplify those, not downplay them.

No contact allows you to slowly feel comfortable by yourself again. Once you know that you can go on without them, you're set for life. If they contact you again, give it a shot, if you want to. If they don't reach out, who cares, you're over that lifestyle and there are plenty more people in this world to find happiness with.

@Ana-rb7ws2 жыл бұрын
Exactly! This is the true purpose of no contact. To process a loss, grieve and move on. This has nothing to do with the other person coming back or not. You get to decide later if you want them back or not based on if it’s in your best interest. If they don’t come back, more often than not, you don’t even notice because you’ve moved on with your life.

Be careful with the "not ignoring them" if they're texting you. They could still be texting you because they want to hold onto you even after you guys aren't together anymore, not because they want to/are ready to get back together. I’ve been on both sides of this. For anyone who maybe made some mistakes after the breakup here’s a story that might give you hope. I can say no contact absolutely had an effect on me. I broke up with someone I had reconciled with (after being broken up for around two years w zero contact) because they had become controlling and manipulative because of their insecurities and it was overwhelming, I couldn’t even have a nap or hang out with friends because of their need for me to respond to texts, and it drove me back to someone else. The breakup was awful, we had been together officially for about five months but very close for way longer. They begged and pleaded and spammed me for weeks, harmed themselves, I had to reach out to one of their friends at one point because I was concerned for their safety. I tried to stay in their life because I cared but it was an outburst every other day because they were hurting and it caused me a lot of stress and was clearly not helping them heal. After two months of this one day they asked me straight up if I was seeing someone else and I told them the truth, they were very upset and ended up saying they couldn’t talk anymore and had to stop all contact. I agreed and did feel guilty, but was also relieved it was over. I was sad but it didn’t last long as I was excited and happy about being with the other person. Then after around three months it just started to hit me. I forgot the negative feelings and just missed them, I couldn’t see what they were doing on social media at all, I thought about them every day and started feeling just awful. At four months I was crying over it often, even being with someone else. The tables turned completely. Then they texted me one day (right after I had been crying over it lol) looking for closure, but we ended up reconnecting. We didn’t date again, we were close for awhile and were intimate occasionally (both being single at this time) but neither of us had really worked on ourselves so it didn’t last. The friendship fizzled out and they removed me from their socials a few weeks ago with no explanation and I’ve just accepted we outgrew each other. Now I’m on the other end with someone else, going no contact and working on myself while they’re in a rebound hoping they’ll go through what I went through and reach out someday. Almost feels like karma. But I’ve made so much progress with my mental health I’m almost glad the breakup happened, I’ve realized the mistakes I made and I’m working on fixing my unhealthy and toxic tendencies. And I do believe he’ll come back eventually, he always does as soon as I move on. :-) Good luck to everyone going through this, it’ll all work out in the end no matter the outcome!!

I had an ex recently start contacting me again, after 10 years. And I was so crazy back then to him, after we split I went into deep depression and contacted him so much, incessantly and ruined everything. Cried for two years, took about 4 to feel like I could finally let go to feel better, decided to stay single on own completely for 9 yrs.. and as soon as I got to a place within me to date someone new, and started liking this new person.. My ex contacted me. It felt like a universal wakeup call at the time. I didn't want him back because I'd finally let go of the hurt and started liking this new guy I was dating, so I focused on him.... well, after only a few months 😔 I'm back in the same boat but with the guy I now like, ending things and heartbroken. And my other ex, is now calling me frequently. I'm glad I'm only at friends mindset with him now, because that pain was way too deep to ever go there again.... but my point, yes.. Hadn't heard from him for a decade! So it can definitely happen everyone. I'm glad for you friend Holly, that it's a different situation for her. Though from what I've witnessed in my circle of life, that can often be a repeat about to happen of something that was never truly healed.. so I hope her case ends as an exception and not that. Xx

I’m doing my best to be a good partner but, I’m still a little scared but, not like before. My anxiety has gone way down. I am open with him but, not super needy. I try and do the things I’ve learned from Craig and Margaret and am constantly working on bettering myself but, for me. It’s gotta be for yourself not for them. You’ll be stronger, happier and healthier! Thanks Craig and Margaret for making me a better person and partner. You got me through a really long and tough time.

Brenda did you went to NC immediately?
@brendasienkiewich24783 жыл бұрын
Gao Ang, I did. Unfortunately, he broke up with me again about a month ago. He wouldn’t open up and I was getting frustrated and he knew it and knew he was causing it. Btw I was extremely patient with him. His actions said love but, he has never said it. He told me he loves things about me but, not me. He also said he wanted to experience other people. His idea of experiencing other people is three dates and done. He has a teenage son with addiction problems which affected the relationship also and he avoided dealing with this too. I tried to open his eyes about it but, he didn’t want to hear it. Avoidant to a T. I’m in no contact again and most likely will not hear from him as I told him not to contact me. The sad thing about it is he has taught his son to be like this and he has no idea how much damage this has caused. I love him very much but, I know he has years of trouble ahead with the kid and he may never change or accept love or trust anyone ever. (Ex wife cheated then married a millionaire 6 months later which devastated him) I could go on but, I’m trying to focus on myself and this makes my head spin. I’m meditating and breathing to relax my mind, working out and dating a little. Hopefully, in a few months I’ll forget him and find someone who can love and communicate better because I deserve it.
@gaoang33913 жыл бұрын
Brenda Sienkiewich thanks for sharing the story , I told myself don’t give hope but still missing him , his real reason is he is afraid he is going to regret if he marry and now I’m in China he is in Italy then he said distance and border is the biggest problem better break up now than later ( we have seen each other 7 months ), he was such warm guy with me and a guy would do everything for me but he took it back at one day . Nothing to complain but I want back with him , and get over him

in 2020 I had the worst heartbreak ever. I wanted that girl back so badly, you couldn't imagine. Now she texted me 2 1/2 years later, how she's missing me and wants me back and would like to start all over again. 2 years ago I would've been so happy to read that message. But meanwhile I know that the breakup was a blessing in disguise. She was a toxic person but my love blinded me. I declined politely and wished her all the best. I just wanted to let you guys know, exes come back, even years later. But sometimes you don't even want them back at that point. :)

It is hard and I've broken my own no contact rule before. But that said, at some point you get to the point you realize that why would you want to be with someone that doesn't want to be with you? You have to have some self-respect. I've learned the really hard way that my definition of love (spending time together, talking, laughing, playing...) is not everyone else's definition of love. I've learned that I have a need to HELP whenever I sense a need and that I get taken advantage of. I've come to realize that I am SICK to DEATH of apologizing for being who I am. Smothering? I just care. Your idea of a good time is laying in your bed and spending hours on FB. I'm wrong for wanting attention and affection? I have to ask you if you love me because it is pulling teeth to get you to say it on your own? Thank you Craig and Margaret for stating the truth that we tend to not want to hear. For saying what I've known in my heart always. Hope always sprang eternal within me. I still love this man but it has to cut both ways. He told me he couldn't give me what I need. I guess he knew what he was talking about. I should have believed and listened. Outcome? No hope left in me whatsoever that there is anyone who is right for me. I'm apparently some weirdo. 60 is too old for belief in fairy tales. And sorry for what devolved into my situation. I did not mean to go there but its only been two days. Going through all the stages. Disbelief, sadness, anger, back to sadness...but I'm ok. Truly.

Success story here!! My ex bf and I are back together. We were broken up for a little over a month. He said he still loves me and everyday he thought of me and everything made him think of me. I was in NC for about 25 days until I reached out about money I needed from him for concert tickets I still had. He sent over the money and we had very sporadic and random chill conversations every other day for about a week. I really felt like he only replied to my texts to be polite because we didn’t really end on bad terms. His replies were casual and seemed apathetic. So finally I asked an open ended question and asked how he was doing. Then we had a whole day of good conversation then that same day he asked me out to get boba. That same night but he said he was scared that I was going to move on and had to tell me he still loves me and missed everything about me. We both agreed to work on ourselves and push each other to be our best and be a strong couple. I said we can take it slowly and I’m open to it. But ultimately I told him I loved him still too! Update: we broke up 3 months later

First time seeing these guys! They are so great together! OMG, what a different experience & wisdom brings to the table! It's crazy because when I caught my husband talking to an X fiance, I felt like someone broke up with me but I couldnt understand it. Been married 22 yrs. I did all of the things u guys mentioned even though I'm still in the house with our grown kids. He never apologized sincerely but blamed it on me! It's been 7 years and nothing ever got better but only worse. We have no connection what's so ever. About 6 months ago I brought that up, and he basically agreed in a rude, nasty way and then walked away from me. I'm so done. I'm finally making an exit plan cause he will never leave this house. When I threatened to leave (about 3 mo. ago) he told me, and I quote "Go for it!". Apparently I'm a joke now. I stopped chasing him little by little over the last few years. In the last few weeks, I stopped chasing him at all. I dont think I want him anymore, whether or not he changes after he has treated me so worthless for so long.

9 months of no contact did a world of good. I needed space and time to figure out how to move on in my life. I broke up with my ex and I got the shock of my life when he reached out wanting to sort things out.

Your videos really help me, Craig and Margaret Thank you! Im in 1 month and 3 weeks of no contact. My ex has anxiety and depression-- I have been with my ex for 3 years and she was having an emotional affair with this other guy at her school. I tried working it out and going to couples therapy (4 sessions) I thought she could see how she was behaving. However, she never put a boundary to tell the guy that she has a bf. So I walked away and here I am. Shes probably with the guy now, but watching your videos and continuing to go to my therapist helps me relax and confirm my own self worth and respect. Thank you!!

@@imperialgrind3128 I am happy and more confident than ever before. I found someone new and way better. Looking back, it was a rough break-up and I was not perfect in the relationship--I know I could have done better for me, but eventually I learned to let her go and prioritized myself. Still do. I am rocking my own life and I am motivated to do my best. I learned never to give my own values up and to always love and respect myself. I speak up and never again tolerate disrespect and deception. I call it out as I see it and I never feel ashamed for doing so. I did become a better version of myself.

I tried to move on from a partner who betrayed me for 6 months before dumping me in the cold way described here. She had plenty of time to try out her new man and I didn’t stand a chance. That was nearly 40 years ago and I’ve suffered trauma ever since. Life can deal some of us a cruel hand and that’s all there is to it.

My situation is tragic. My boyfriend broke up with me because of threats from his adult children. We had a very nice, easy going relationship and loved each other. Your videos help me understand what’s happening and what to do next.

Bro. I’m gonna keep it real. Every time I smile. I see my ex. I invited my ex girlfriend out one day, and the people that know me asked us both if we were related. They told us that we look like brother and sister, but we were dating at the time. And when I used to look at photos of us two side by side. I can actually see what people were talking about. She broke up with me, but for some reason she would call me nonstop after the breakup, she would drive by my house, she would email me, she would call me off different numbers. I don’t know if she still thinks of me, or has she moved on, but I’ve been working on myself, I’ve improved financially, and mentally. Physically fit now. I do miss her touch, and the way she tasted. If she reached out to me now. I would take my time, and answer. But I would talk to her. We were together for 9 month’s.

In my experience with no contact, I have had 5 out of 6 of my exes come back, I completely disappear, remove them from all social media, the average time has always been about the 3 month mark when they reach out, but others were 6 months, some I've had even 5 years later they are still looking for me, saying they can't forget me. It's disappointing though because usually by then I've moved on and don't wish to have them back. Can u do a complete video of the Applebee's girl situation? We only get tid-bits of the story LOL
@SR04903 жыл бұрын
5/6? DAMN. For some reason I can't get myself to remove them from social media though... she ended things saying she isn't ready, im her best friend and she doesnt deserve me, its unfair & that she needs to figure herself out she's too lost & wants to figure herself out (she's avoidant .. im anxious). I've just been staying off of social media, not posting. It makes me wonder if she'll ever come back or not honestly.
@spacito86173 жыл бұрын
@@SR0490 Watch the video by Craig Kenneth, "Meeting Your Ex Where They're At" it's a great one for trying to understand their side of the coin and having empathy of where they are at in their life. And "If I Leave My Ex Alone, Will They Miss Me?" is one of my all-time favorites. My most recent ex (also my best friend) just ended the relationship over Xmas for the same reason, said he wasn't ready for a relationship, had to figure his life out, etc. as he was younger than me by a lot. This video Meeting Your Ex Where They're At really helped me put things into perspective and have empathy for him and his situation. I'm pretty sure he will come back because I treated him like gold and he will see how the others/next gf won't compare to me. It is unfair, but try not to take the rejection too personally, if it would be personal, he or she would never have started a relationship with you anyway. I'm anxious too and I had an avoidant ex come back at the 7 month mark but he messed too much with my head and played too many games during the relationship so I did not even answer his texts. Avoidants don't mesh well with anxious. I have always done the no contact rule, and it really works (I'm an experienced no-contacter LOL). And don't check their social media, it only causes you more pain and you start assuming things that are probably not true. I also didn't post anything during NC, this also gives them a chance to wonder about you and they will have to come directly to the source if they want to know about your life. Up your gym workouts, take new classes at the gym, or try a new hobby, bike rides, take long walks, get a dog, take weekly massages if you can as it boosts the oxytocin in your brain, see friends, I purchased the workbooks The Knowledge to understand relationships better, and I listened to Craig Kenneth every day and night all day long to soothe my anxiety whenever I felt like I was going to break NC and I also did lots of holistic therapy (Reiki, sound healing, biomagnets, etc. to calm me) and I stayed away from any distractions like going to bars, etc. because as an anxious I knew I could be lured into dating a new person, so I just focused all in on myself and healing. 5/6 of my exes did come back, so I can confidently say that there is a good chance your ex will reach out, just give her time and space. Stay strong, you can do this! Have Discipline or Fail! LOL

@@spacito8617 Ive watched it and rewatch many videos over and over. It is definitely a good one. I am just hoping I'll get a chance to turn things around and implement what im learning and now understand. I guess I'll give her the time to understand. NC is on for legit only 2 weeks. I have a feelings it'll be a long way to go.

Got a heartwarming success story for you guys Highschool sweethearts, started dating at 14/15. Dated for 3 1/2 years, she broke up because of many personal issues and communication errors (many my fault). We went no contact for 3 weeks because i trusted in craig kenneth and what people told me. I took a trip to jamaica with my family. We talked in jamaica and agreed to talk in person once we got back (we play sports together so when the season started again contact was unavoidable). She wanted nothing but friends and I respected that. Fast forward a month she cracked and told me she saw a future for us together, we've been talking through our errors and improving as people. We're casually dating right now but keeping thing spontaneous to experience the high school/university life while being exclusive. Trust me, trust Craig. Work on yourself and become a better person and she/he will see that. If they don't want you once you improve then they aren't worth it.
