Schools are where pupils come together to learn. This is a decision based on common sense and if the Muslim pupils and families don't agree then I suggest they look for a school that accommodates them and their beliefs. This is the UK not a Muslim country and they should respect that - or leave.

The mother signed an agreement to the school rules on enrolment, she had a choice to attend a ‘religious’ school. 👏thank goodness this decision went the common sense way.

This is going too far I grew up in Moslem country and went to a public school there no one prayed at school and until today nobody prays at school in these countries …. These people are flexing their muscles and taking advantage of these weak and cowardly European governments

The shocking thing is , I understand lots of pupils from different religious beliefs attend that school including many other Muslim Catholic, Jewish , Sikh children, they and their parents all seem to be fine with the rules and I believe KB stated so. If this pupil and her parents aren’t happy with the rules … leave , simple really. Just because she is of the Muslim faith doesn’t give her the right to be treated in a preferential way and the quicker others who think like her best get used to it the better 🤫

Great news! Let's hope this is the start of a pushback against those who try to impose their religion on our Christian country. Imagine the reverse happening if we started stropping around in Pakistan, building churches all over, protesting on the streets waving our flag and trying to change their school curriculums and laws to suit ourselves.

Absolutely right

We will not bow to Islam, Islam stand down, accept or leave. We must stand up against Islam everytime we are threatened.Christians do not demand or blame nor should they. Islam does these 2 things regularly. The parents would have goaded their child to do this and the Imams would have goaded the parents to do it. If the Head of the Church of England had fought for all things Christian in the public sphere, this would not happen. Freedom of religion for all in their homes and places of worship but only Christianity in all our institutions.

Coming from an Asian, finally Britain is getting her senses back. No dedicated teacher should have been put through the hell this teacher went through. I applaud the courage of the way this amazing woman who was firm and refused to back down from the bullying tactics of a race and culture people of her subcontinent of origin know so well. The Punjabi's are a courageous race - both women and men are known for this - the Punjabis just like the others from the Indian subcontinent are familiar with the Islamic Pakistani tactics of their geographic neighbours The terrorist tactics were becoming evident in this so called wanting to pray 5 times a day religon with their bomb threats and other threats.. A white British male or female teacher would not have had the courage to stand up to these bullies for fear of being accused Islamophobic or racist. The so called Imam says the judiciary decision disadvantages one religon " affecting it's identity of praying 5 times a day ( among a host of other thing, next thing it will be demanding the students to use Burka because that is also part of their identity). It is part of my culture to have the Blessed sacrament in front of me and rosary when I pray. So can I and all my Catholic classmates please have a prayer room with the Blessed Sacrament installed in please. It's a numbers game isn't it for this entitled lot - "well we are so many now therefore we need to be given certain privileges- and the Hindus, Buddhists, Catholics and Non-beleivers can just fluff off to whatever it is that they do because they don't breed as much as we entitled lot do to be able to dominate and shout our entitlement to the forreign lands who are hosting us. Before they know it they are now embracing our culture- you know the hosting countries give us an inch but we take a yard or more."

What this head teacher describes as the ambition of this school perfectly matches the French concept of « laïcité », which is so often misunderstood in Britain. The whole world needs laïcité, and certainly not blasphemy laws!

Go to a secular school and try and force a change in its cultural life; come to a country and try and force a change in its cultural life. Same answer to both scenarios: you are free to go elsewhere.

I assume they have private religious schools in the UK this minority can send their children to If they can’t afford the tuition they should bring that up with their Mosque. Public Schools are not religious schools
