I’ve been flying for 45+ years, 10K hours mostly turboprop, and you have very good suggestions on airmanship. When someone’s flying with me and I verbalize my contingencies if I loose an engine (flying a Cessna 414A), the really wonder if I’m nuts. I explain, and they get it but so many thing 2 engines makes things so much safer…I hold back to them that it most certainly does not. Watching your videos makes me really miss the reverse on the King Airs I flew.

Serious question: Don't we have enough technology to not have to do all this pre-checking and monitoring of exhaust temps and other things like this. I mean we get into our Toyota's and just start them and they run for years with no problems. Am I missing something? Any info would be helpful.
@buckhorncortez
@buckhorncortez Жыл бұрын
If something malfunctions with your Toyota does it fall out of the air and crash...?
@ET_Videos
@ET_Videos Жыл бұрын
@@buckhorncortez No of course it doesn't, lol. Shouldn't modern ECU's, fuel injection, sensors, warnings, etc., be able to tell you everything you need to know of a prestart screen? Plus, all the checking of things on any plane does not guarantee it wont 'fall out of the air and crash...". It reduces risk, of course...but. So, question still out there. Is it due to the type of engines in planes? The age of some of these planes? Inquiring minds want to know.
@buckhorncortez
@buckhorncortez Жыл бұрын
@@ET_Videos Simple answer - no. On a car, you get a warning light. With a plane, you'd already be in trouble when it illuminated. Watching the plane's operating parameters allows the pilot to confirm correct operation and diagnose a potential problem before it becomes a critical failure.

@@FriedaNixda thank you. Best response yet. Was honestly curious and I am aware of the extra danger, but some things seem a little antiquated with planes, but maybe that’s by design.

It's a pity that non one is taking and editing content of village life that the locals and missionaries would approve and the audience would love and support. But I can also imagine that the decision makers could have decided that it would not be helpful, so no need to explain this.
