So have you looked at your area for junk yards where you can actually go on and take your own parts off? Here on the west coast we have LKQ yards and its the best joy for any gear head! Not only you can learn so much for a small admission fee (in my area) of $1, but you can break things (accidently) and not worry about it (learning in progress), I call this mechanical collage. It seems, the E39s and E90s along with E65s are crowding the yards lately. So grab em while you can before they are really instinct like the E21s, E30s and E36s.... Cant wait for your next episode man....subscribed for sure.

Yes, there are definitely a lot of great pick ‘n pull yards around here. The two biggest issues I have with them are time and availability of parts. Unfortunately the time of the E39 as far as junkyard cars go is starting to wane here on the east coast. Space is at more of a premium, I guess, and there tend to be more recent cars (E60/65, E90, etc) there now. The other thing is time. Their hours are always so weird, so to make it to one, I have to leave work super early, and that’s often pretty hard for me to plan. So I just usually either buy parts from local parts cars or eBay or Prussian Motors in PA.

The paint makes Faff look very handsome was it very expensive in the US .

It was pretty expensive. I can't find the original sticker, but I think it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $55.000 USD in 2001, which comes out to just about $96.000 today. That's crazy!
