He didn't listen, he knew he could not stop DJ and if he thought he could have stopped him he would have. He never learned anything from research. DJ told him and showed it on his phone. But he reacted and still wouldn't let him. In the end, DJ was for doing what he always does. The man didn't say it ok, he had no choice as no laws were broken. And he believed that his secret waste secretive way lol that no one else had, could be stolen he panicked. Gracefully would have just read all that, I was overreacting, sorry.

Indeed, I have found it a few times now and make much more of a big deal about it when the objections to my work is voiced louder. On this occasion I trust a swift cleanup operation followed by daily cleaning tasks implemented will bring this small area back under control by the boss who seemed to be reasonable. The pellets are often mistaken as food by wildlife and when entering the waterways can be eaten by fish and enter the food chain. 💚

The manager was alright really. Bit over excited at first but quickly calmed down. He can be proud of his site ... the organization of the yard was brilliant. (He was fibbing about the pellets outside though) !

The owner of the business did not seem to be at all concerned by his "mess" on his doorstep. Bit concerning, as it was obvious where the mess had come from, even if it was in the public domain. BlackBelt seems to be on the case!

Actually a lot of truth in that. A friend of mine owns a garage and he has to pay silly prices for so called 'green' bins that get collected privately. They came to collect and asked why they charge so much, collection company said they weren't sure because all the stuff he spent time separating into different bins all goes to landfill anyway. The whole green thing is a con, a tax.

I think most people unfamiliar with the role of auditors, the laws regarding privacy, flying of drones, public photography etc, would be a tad suspicious of someone filming their site unannounced. As the manager quite rightly said, they have technology that they would like to keep private from competitors. However, this manager took the time to communicate with the auditor and eventually put aside his initial suspicions, and managed to conduct a productive dialogue with the auditor. In the rare cases where an auditor highlights a public concern (in this case the plastic pellets), it's good to know that managers of these companies take on board the comments and feedback whilst respecting the role of an auditor as an ordinary citizen. Kudos to DJ, always non-confrontational and eager to educate. Great video.

In the future, I suggest explaining to people that legally everything that is not prohibited is allowed, so formally, there isn't and cannot be a law that something is allowed. Laws are made only about prohibitions. Greetings from Poland.

Section 62 of The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 specifically permits pictures and video (including the broadcasting of said images) of buildings, sculptures, works of art, etc.

@@scotttchviski6706 I understand what you mean, but the example you gave is rather a clarification and presentation of an exception to the prohibition. In this case, in terms of copyright. My main point was that writing laws on the basis of permits would make no sense because, firstly, no one can come up with all the things that are permitted. Secondly, and probably most importantly, it would go against the principle that everything that is not prohibited is permitted and is closely related to the human rights and our freedoms.

Our drains on site we used to have a sheet of sponge over each one with a pallet on top to make sure it stayed in place but was easy to remove and clean up, it was rare for any granule's (or granny's as we called them) to be anywhere on the floor inside never mind outside, However you would be surprised how quick they spread when you catch a 25kg bag on something and its windy or raining, most we did where stored in single 800 KG cardboard boxes so obviously kept indoors and dry.

I thought about this while I was watching it. Those little pellets look like they could escape everywhere if your not careful. It looked like that one area needed a bit more work, but generally they seemed on top of it.

5:15 The way the law works in the UK, it says what is NOT allowed. We don't have the continental/French system which says what IS allowed. So whilst there is no law that says you can film private property, it is the lack of it that means it IS allowed.

@@DJAUDITS Yep. It's something I mention a lot. A building can be artistic as art is in the eye of the beholder. The other term for it is "Freedom of Panorama". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_panorama Copyright is the reason why you can't film inside a cinema. One of the few places which is private property where you can't film.

You made a great point when you mentioned they don’t have nothing to worry about. After he pointed out that their trade secrets and compounds are all inside. In fact, they should celebrate and point out the fact that they keep up a clean, safe, and tidy job site/workspace! It’s really very interesting, and a little sad how you come across very few, level headed, professional people out in the “wild” gathering content. Rarely, we see someone tell you “no, you cannot take videos of them or the property”.Then take the time to actually listen to what DJ has to say. We really need more businessmen/women, willing to listen more than “flapping their gums! It’s always refreshing to see people leading with their brain, as opposed to their ego. Thanks again for another great video DJ! Keep safe and thanks for being willing to spark conversation and help educate on many fronts! Of course, thanks for bringing us along!

Commend them for upgrading the yard with concrete blocks not seen on the google aerial and attempting to keep the site clean. DJ's views would be a good marketing tool. Great video. 👍⭐⭐⭐ Their building replaced the old terraced houses and the yard was allotment gardens as railway siding entered the former goods yard. Terraced houses around the corner also replaced older terraces from 1800s.

Very well recovered by the owner who initially was acting out of ignorance but once he realised that you were acting within the law and were not wanting to portray the business in a negative light or cause issues actually really engaged well and gave a good impression of the business and what they do. 👍🏻 If only more staff and owners of premises were open-minded your profits would plummet as we wouldn’t get to laugh at them making fools of themselves. 😂😂😂

I worked in a Styrofoam place when younger, when the truck drivers were waiting to be loaded they would be walking up and down the road with a blower vac sucking up all the foam bits. And then it was taken back into the Styrofoam process and put back into the recycling system for pods for concrete slabs and cladding. The EPA was very strict on it they used to hang around just waiting to give a fine grates over drains were fine mesh.

Those plastic bits get everywhere in rivers the sea on beaches has you can see on land not saying this firm is responsible but it happens and could possibly contribute to the pollution of plastic pellets but end of the days it’s a good think they are doing

🥸Didn't really need a Zoom lens, or drone, to see all those plastic pellets strewn over the yard, road, and drains!! 🤔Isn't there an Environment-Protection-Agency" in the UK? 😮 ... Shouldn't they have inspectors, paid to stop these industries from polluting and poisoning the land and the fauna? ... hmmm🤔... Luckily, now they will be able to see where they should be inspecting and protecting! 👍

I had a quick look on Google Maps, it so sad to see how this area has degraded over past few years. The abandoned British Steel plant just down the road, some derelict unit in the bushes just off that lane way and a massive flattened area next to the canal, it's so sad to see a once great Industrial Area in such reduced circumstances.

Just thought, you could do an audit on recycle plastic bins follow 1 wagon on its way from start to finish see if they get recycled or end up on the landfills like everything else.
