Surprisingly other than the 5.7V8, this Porsche is really well taken care of. Quite a nice little Sleeper too, more than double the base power.

Cool V8 swapped 944 .The LS 3 is a little bit lighter motor than a SBC 350 because its aluminum but an iron block LS 1 is about the same weight as an SBC 350 . I have a SBC V8 swapped 944 myself and they are a blast . Ive had mine 20 years and its had many changes over the years .Once you get used to working on them they are fairly simple. I used a 944 Hybrids kit out of Texas on mine . I just put a slick paint job on it last year and added some motor mods as well as a glass sunroof . I have a few videos of it on my channel .Thanks for sharing your find .

The 5.7 is what was in the Pontiac Trans AM GTA and possibly the Camaro Iroc-Z for that time. We were still coming out of the Era of low horsepower and focusing on better miles per gallon. This and the Ford Mustang 5.0 started changing and the Vettes started to get back to where they should be, also. Speaking of Vettes (Corvette), guys should buy a couple!

What a beautiful set up! Everything just seemed right with that car.

The real sweet conversion is the LS-2 6.0 all aluminum engine 400hp vs 300 of the LT-1. Renegade hybrids has a few videos of 944, 911, 928, 914, Boxters and 968 LS conversions. The big thing right now is to find a Boxster, 993 or 996 that had an ISB failure and the engine is junk to slap an LS into.

this looks really like there was never been another engine in this car, it fits perfectly and 400HP, this is the power it deserves......

Watching from the U.K, have owned quite a few 944 turbo models including a nice late model which with some upgrades had around 300 bhp which we took round the Nurburgring. This looked like a really good conversion, never seen a v8 swapped 944 here in the uk but sure it would be a huge amount of fun in such a well balanced car.

It would be great to hear the profit / loss numbers on the 944 LS.

First car in 02 was a 86!Porsche 944 Turbo, they’re such awesome cars. I took really good care of mine and it was beyond fast with a few mods and handled like it was on rails.

It was for sale on FB market local out of SunCity for 25k. Guy didn't respond to me. I already have an lt1 944, almost identical, but this has a nicer exterior.
