"Peacock" is a beautiful and not so well known film starring Cillian Murphy and Elliot Page. It came out in early 2000s I believe and didn't receive great reviews but I personally find it memorable. Cillian Murphy in dual roles of two sensitive tragic figures. Some surprises here and there. I recommend if you are a fan of this incredible actor.

It's not quite the same, but I lived in a ground floor apartment once , kept on hearing the man above having conversations with his wife , he was an old man i would occasionally see and talk to . Asked anouther neighbour' about the couple . Apparently the wife had been dead for years , but we could hear the old mans voice talking to his wife ,and her replies in a anouther voice. Creepy and sad .

In 2010 this would still be referred CORRECTLY (although this is a BIG interpretation of condition) as “Split Personality Disorder”, this is not the form that something like DiD would take (“disassociation” replacing the provenly FALSE “multiple” personality disorder), which got redefined by TikTok and is now better coming to be understood as budding personality disorders begging for attention.

In 2002 I was diagnosed with DID. I sought help for anger outbursts and tried to articulate what I know now to be 'masking'. It's like I create personalities, and they each have their own pattern of logic. Turns out I'm autistic.....20 years later. After my son was diagnosed with Autism. After tge DID dx, I spent a few months treating it before they defined I don't black out and can clearly articulate my different masks and what drives them. They took back dx. 10 years ago I was diagnosed again after another bout of executive dysfunction. I was diagnosed ptsd with agoraphobia and hypervigilance. I like your explanation, I'm adding to it, if I can xxxxxx
