The weird thing about this movie is vincent saw sam years ago and never said he saw a kid that looked like his brother, so george didn't even need to have sam all those years if vincint wouldve spoke up. I think vincent felt guilty and i think he had hate for sam and kind of didnt want him to come back. He felt he wasnt enough to make his parents happy and they only loved ben which made him resent him. He was pleading the whole movie to be seen and then in the end he realized the one he resented was the one who saw him the whole time. He was the reason same decided to go back home because he remembered and missed his brother.

I hate fostercare. My mother died when I was 12. Fostercare loves to take Black children from their families. So even though my grandmother was taking care of us, they took us. We grew up and all did well. But when I bought my homestead in Upstate NY a racist woman wanted to run me out of town, so she lied and said I a use my daughter. NY took my daughter. My sisters (an insurance broker and nurse practitioner), tried to get my daughter. They refused to give my daughter to my family, so cursed them every day. I appealed to Albany and, though my daughter aged out, NY had to pay ½ million dollars for.her Ivy League education. My neighbor's husband died and she lost her house in NY. The judge and lawyer died from cancer and Coronovirus killed worse in NY than another state. And my neighbor lost her other house in Puerto Rico during the storms. My daughter and I are back spending alot of time together. She graduated at the top of her class in HS and did well at her Ivy League University. She is now very financially secure and I live peacefuly at my homestead.

I saw the movie and I am pretty sure they get away with it and they think it’s someone else because Paul was such a prick. You should have put the real ending here.

I dont think you guys understood Olive's character at all. It's chronic depression and it's hidden her case. There's a point during it, that becomes so unbearable that you become bitter, rude to everyone else , even to your family, you can't even stand yourself alone. It's shown in her ways of taking full care of her husband when she can just divorce, appreciating him in his most vulnerable state in his life (remember, a true person's colours are shown when you notice how they treat you when they don't need you for anything at all), also shown in the part where she just exists because her dog was depending on her, otherwise she would've off'd herself long ago. It's a misunderstood character. A pity. Edit: just noticed the description, i wrote all the above without knowing there's an author who already says she has chronic depression. I eanted to add that the author pictured the life of someone loving with chronic depression perfectly. I have never seen anything more accurate. Congratulations, its a piece of art.

In these kind of super patriarchal societies the men act like giant toddlers, constantly throwing tantrums and so intimidated by women doing anything better than them. These men are insecure .

Why wasn’t it called Henry Kitteridge? Idgaf about Olive. Fitting since she doesn’t care about anyone either Edit: I get it. It’s about the pov of a narcissist

She cared about her husband and her son. But I think she had untreated depression what made her unable to feel positive about life. It's like always having a kind of suffering.

I absolutely ADORE this movie! This is one of my Top 5 Favorite Movies of All Time!! The storyline and cast are amazing! I happened to go to the movies and just picked this film bc I've never been disappointed by a Blake Lively film, and "Adaline" certainly did not disappoint. I was really happy that during her second car accident she didn't just age to 107 years old in the blink of an eye. I've often wondered would she be able to have children despite her age. One of the things I loved about this film, that wasn't shown in this movie breakdown, was her stock portfolio. The woman had VISION! This movie was overlooked and slept on my movie goers. No matter. More Adeline for me!

Gosh this was so depressing mainly because this is real life not sci fiction. This was set at a time before the term postpartum depression was known & women were left to fend for themselves or called "hysterical"!!! Nowadays we can all relate to her because we all either face or know people struggling with MH issues

These movies are ridiculous. Trying to gaslight us into thinking their main character is “fat and ugly” if the producers wanted to convince the audience of that then they should’ve hired an actress who actually was fat and ugly
