When was the last time you asked yourself, am I mentorable? This talk invites the audience to assess and reexamine their own mentorability as they engage in everyday developmental relationships. Victoria Black is the Director for PACE Mentoring at Texas State University and a 3rd year doctoral student in the Program in Higher Education Leadership at UT Austin. Her research interests include college access for first-generation students, first-year student success, working mothers in student affairs, and the concept of mentorability. She has shared mentorability across multiple messages inspiring others on how to help enhance their mentoring partnerships by examining their role and responsibility as a mentee. Originally from La Joya, TX, she received a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas San Antonio and a M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance from Texas State University. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Loved it. Mentor-Mentee relationship is a two-way street, Mentor can take 99 steps for you but you have to take at least 1 step to let them help you.
