I love that he just gives her space, doesn't ask anything of her, just tries to make her comfortable without saying anything. Allows her to make the decision to eat or not eat. No pressure.

Food culture teaches a lot to people, especially children: -safety (sharp objects, pressure, heat) -history (origins of a dish) -adventure (trying new things..dishes/spices/variation) -life-long skills (preparation, cooking, cleaning/hygiene) -the importance/value of family and sitting together for a home cooked meal -etiquette and manners (plus how to treat a guest how you should act AS a guest) -communication and cooperation (safely working together in the kitchen) Wishing you and your family all the best❤

Believe thats the kid is orphaned and moves to live with her aunt who she wasnt familiar with before. The kid shuts down and the aunt tries to help her move on from their tragedy. This was one of the first steps and they slowly grow a relationship together. It also shows the relation between the two chef. She is strict/restrictive while he is generally "goofy" / forward. Here she thanks him for helping with something she was genuinely struggling with.

Is this everyone’s first introduction to American remakes of foreign films? It was popular to do in the 2000s: let me in, the ring, the grudge, old boy, 12 monkeys etc. even Darren Aronofsky bought rights to perfect blue just so he can recreate one scene in requiem for a dream. It’s the same because it’s supposed to be the same, they got the rights to the film and made an English v. It’s not inspired by the German Mostly martha, it’s basically a beat by best recreation for audiences that want an English version. Sadly, a lot of people don’t watch foreign films and the only way of getting them to watch this is if it’s in their native language.
