Neal demonstrates the No Strain Easy (EZ) Deer Skinning Station / Rack. The station's pulley system makes it easy for one person to skin a whitetail deer, hog, or other large animal. For someone older, or with limited strength who cannot grip well or tug and pull off a hide, this skinning station is a real help. How to use a golf ball to assist in removing the hide is also shown. The concrete pad and a water hose also helps keep everything clean during processing.

It sure beats tugging and pulling. Thanks for watching and commenting Owen. Have a blessed day.

That looks a lot easier than the engine lifter that some of my relatives use!😆

this is so cool. I want to build one it looks way easier than what i currently do. One tip i do that would benefit you as well is with your skinning hook instead of stopping at the belly continue to rip it all the way down the sternum and into the neck. That separation is like unzipping the jacket so its easier to pull off since your only pulling from the back side.

Ted, it has been one of the best tasting deer we've harvested. Thanks for the comments.

@@ReturningtoBasics I’d love to do some proper hunting. Just In England the laws are stupid, so it’s just small quarry like rabbits and rodents. Thanks for the reply and glad you enjoyed the deer 👍👍. God bless

Honestly We skin our deer from the neck ,(leave head on)using similar method, just turn animal up the other way, a noose around its neck, it’s less fiddly than starting at the rear haunches, you don’t get the hair over the haunches. The skin just glides over shoulders etc. Great job though, nice buck.

If I get a deer this year I planned to do just what you suggested and try it that way. Thanks for the suggestion.

Did you loop the ball thru the cable?

Have used a Rock wrapped in the hide with a Cable around it … Have used a Truck, 4 Wheeler, and Winch to pull the hides … all work great as long as deer is hung correctly …

Excellent and a definite add to our station. W/ the golf ball, assume you wrapped the hide around the ball, then the cable around the hide and ball and hooked it back onto the cable? Effectively forming a loop?
@ReturningtoBasics
@ReturningtoBasics 2 жыл бұрын
You are exactly right. That's how I do it and as you can see it works better than the hook. I'm thinking about eliminating the hook and installing a slip loop on the end of the cable to work with the golf balls exclusively. Thanks for the comments and for watching. Good luck in your deer hunts.

How did you get it off the head?
@ReturningtoBasics
@ReturningtoBasics Жыл бұрын
I did not cape it for a full shoulder mount so I just cut the head off with a reciprocating saw and pulled the hide off the carcass. I did give the hide to a neighbor for him to preserve. Other than the holes where the bullet entered and exited, it was basically a tube. Thanks for the comment Jake.
