This week we are switching gears so that we keep the ball rolling. We decided to change the color of the boat! This is a bit scary, but also very exciting! We are excited to share this process with all of you and we hope that you love the outcome as much as we do!
Alexseal Paint: www.alexseal.com/resources/co...
-We used the roll additive as well, this allows us to hand roll the paint without needing to tip with a brush afterwords.
Flexible Epoxy: www.totalboat.com/product/thi...
-This is the product that we used to reinforce the gelcoat cracks in the starboard sugar scoop.

Only one person painting with a tiny roller when there’s a whole team watching! Obviously $400 per day is not a problem.

Finish your work and get the hell out of there. Once you get out of that yard, total up your costs, after their changes, and sue them for it. You have a written contract, and by law, they are obligated to provide the product/service for the contracted price. You're doing the right thing by just paying the difference now, but keep that written contract and hit them after the fact. You can also sue for punitive damages as well for the breach of contract as they're basically holding you and your boat hostage because they KNOW you have nowhere else you can go at this point.

Yes this!!!!!!! Sue the hell out of this place because we all know you are not the first people they have done this too and you won't be the last if nobody takes a stand against this kind of behavior!!!!!!!!!

Depends on what they have written into contract ie. “Can be changed at any time”, “during peak season may raise rate” etc. and so on. If the yard has it in their contract & they signed it, then they’re on the hook or can leave. In my opinion they should’ve thought this more thru from the start & made sure they were in a yard that didn’t or doesn’t have any changes on a whim bcz $400 a day will likely go up again since they know these people are willing to just keep paying each time they raise the rates. It’s hard to move once you start working like this but at what point will enough be enough? They likely have zero grounds to sue given the fact they’re just sucking it up & paying the hike.

Keep copies of everything. Ask for everything in writing. Submit to an attorney for review. This is getting ridiculous. Over a barrel is right.

@@ittybittykittyrescue4843 Kind of like how you'd have no grounds to call the police if someone with a gun decided to rob you and you gave them all your cash... I mean, you gave them your cash right? They didn't TAKE it from you? The fact that they held you hostage is of no concern?

Fantastic progress, what a transformation already, it looks enormous and has Class written all over it. What are your intentions once its finished to keep it and sell the Lagoon?, or sell it and keep the Lagoon?. The sheer luxury of it will make it hard to let it go. Your born natural ability in front of the cameras make these videos a joy to watch, and as we come along for the ride with you showing the ups and downs these will be a distant memory once your sailing your pristine Leopard 50 on the high seas. ⛵⛵ 👍👍 PS. Paint colour looks Amazing.

With this yards past actions I think we all knew this was coming. They've already shown their colors previously and are just doing more of the same. I'm pretty sure you all suspected something like this may happen as well. So does it suck, yes but did was it really a surprise probably not and I'm sure you more than likely planned for something like this to happen. It just means you're little more rushed on getting the vessel to a point you can safely move it to finish the work that's needed. Which I have full confidence you'll be able to do. Looking really good and the choice to add color was the right one IMHO. There are a bajillion white boats but not so many blueish white ones. She's definitely going to be ahead turner when you're done. Hopefully this will be the only time getting materials slows you down and that everything else shows up on time... Fair winds, safe travels and God Bless.

We wanted to have cracks repaired we still have from when our boat was in charter ‚ah no, dont bother, they come again‘, or ‚shit no, thats too much work‘ … from different yards … you demonstraded it works 🤗same with the boat paint - everybody we asked said its useless on a production boat (we are on a FP Bahia)… amazing job!!! It think we will give it a try and do it ourselves. Thank you for tje material tips and how-to-do‘s. Looking forward to your next vid!

You guys rock! Well done and your channel content is absolutely fantastic!!! I love how you’ve broken this project down step by step. It’s a wonderful educational tool! I love your enthusiasm in the face of adversity and the boat colour is WICKED!!! Your boat yard… absolute bunch of c***s. In Australia that wouldn’t fly and of one ever tried to do that… word would spread and they’d be out of business. At no time should a business NOT operate to make a profit … but to enforce price rises constantly on you when you had already agreed on a day rate (knowing full well you couldn’t move the boat) says so much about them and how they operate. I fully support the idea of speaking with a lawyer. If you had signed a contract, and they have breached the conditions set forth in that contract… causing significant financial difficulty to you… then surely something can be done to remedy that situation. Best of luck to you all. This is absolutely the best channel on KZfaq. Keep up the great work.

That has to be the shittiest, most dishonest yard I've seen on youtube. It's one thing to raise the rate before a contract is signed, but to then, after you've signed a contract and moved into the shed they raise it again? I have to wonder what kind of b.s. they are pulling on the rest of their customers? How many boats in that yard are just putting up with being cheated by them?
