I believe this is one of the best fry fish foods on the market. I show you how to make the exact amount of Repashy Fish Food. In this video I am making some Soilent Green but the directions I give in this video work for any of the Repashy fish foods that are available.
I am looking forward to trying out the others over the next few months. Also I should point out that I am not sponsored by Repashy, although I wish I was! I purchased this purely to try the product out and give my fish an even more varied diet.

I definitely think you should get them used to the food before you rely on it without them knowing what it is. So that means feeding it in conjunction with a food they are familiar with just in case they are unsure about it. Glad you found the video helpful!

Very informative, I shall give Repashy a try. I use to prepare the same type of food by the use of AGAR AGAR powder (just add warm water and becomes gel). I mix it with sea shrimps, boiled spinach, boiled peas, some drops of multivitamic, high quality micro pellets of fish food. Percentages of ingredient vary in comparison with fish needs, if vegetarian more "green" if carnivore more "red". It is stable in water and fish go crazy for it
@JasonsCichlids
@JasonsCichlids 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah give it a go Matteo, be interesting to see what you think if it compared to your Agar Agar Mix. I actually wouldn't mind trying to make my own mix using Agar Agar powder. Maybe one day I'll give it a go myself.

This food looks awesome I wasn't aware of it, a great video as always very helpful and informative. This is the first food that might draw me away from Newlife Spectrum. Would you say it would replace it, or do the 2 foods compliment each other?
@JasonsCichlids
@JasonsCichlids 2 жыл бұрын
Great to hear you found it useful David. The fact that its stable in the water and fry can pick off it all day long is a huge bonus. One thing I didn't mention that I should have (but the video would have easily been over 20 minutes long) is the ingredients. Not much in the way of fillers in it as well. I wouldn't say replace your current fish food. I always say, give your fish variety and as many different foods as you can, just to ensure they are getting a wide range of vitamins and minerals. This will help ensure that if any one food is lacking in something that other foods should make up for it.
@JasonsCichlids
@JasonsCichlids 2 жыл бұрын
I should have added that New Life Spectrum also have their own version of gel food. I haven't tried it myself and probably would one day to just give it a go and compare the two.

Haha I had to look up the reference. Just a little disturbing 😄 thankfully the ingredient list on the back doesn't mention humans 🤣 Funny you say that though as the film is based in the year 2022. After the last two years we've all had. Let's hope the film isn't an accurate portrayal of what's to come!

Another way to avoid air pockets is to add just enough water to the powder to make a paste. Then slowly pour on the rest of the water while stirring like crazy. This works in baking too.

No worries David. Normal growth rate with calvus is extremely slow. Talking about 1.5cm in 6 months. A year approx 3cm-4cm. The males will grow slightly quicker. 2 years though for maturity.

My fish, including my Plecos, really don’t seem all interested in this. I tried just about every flavor including Morning Wood and I follow the instructions down to the letter, but they just don’t seem to care for it. Not sure if I’m over feeding them and they just aren’t hungry, or what else it could be.

My bristlenose and cherry shrimp go mad for the soilent green and I usually add a cube of frozen brine shrimp when I make up a batch. It's a shame that it sinks though as my tetra's won't eat it off the bottom.
