@@Konstamonsta staggered trees should totally be a thing. When trees reach a low amount of remaining wood they should have a chance to enter a staggered state. The player then has a limited time to perform a "Glory Chop" which makes the tree explode in a burst of extra wood.

His review was really good though T90 should watch it for sure. It's weird because the previous generations were not even that bad for wood, and could have been tweaked. They have 100% over-engineered it so it breaks it's generation in quite a few smaller map situations. More complicated for little balance gain - remove the randomness from random maps but add the bugs since it defaults to "nothing" in certain areas, and those areas are now much larger. Really disappointed since it's going to affect some pro games.

In the original age of empires 3 there used to be a similar problems because of decorations the game would spawn, basically, it would spawn decorations around that map after generating every ressources, and if it spawned where there was a ressource, it'd delete the ressource I've stopped counting how many tournament games I've seen restarted because a player's gold didn't spawn in

You would think they would like, I dunno, test the map generation to see if it works?

Maybe next major update they can fix Mesoamerican civs having access to siege weapons.

The same thing happened to me. I had no trees for miles (in fact I was also in the left corner) and yes that's what I did, I said in all chat "I'm resigning but look at the map". The enemy agreed it was pretty dumb. But in retrospect I could have tried to play.
