Hello! First time watching one of your content, and I love it. Wonderful how one can find all kinds of tips and tricks with various items. To top it off, it's like making new friends all around the world. I do have an additional suggestion for what to do with onion skins. which I've used over and over again. Turns out onion skins are a powerful inflammation fighter! That's right. What you do is store the outer layers of the onion skins (the dryer the better) in a jar, no cover though because that will promote mold. Anyway, I crush /chop the skins once they've dried and put them in a loose leaf teabag. Make yourself an onion skin tea! I can see your faces now, eeewwweee I'm not drinking that stuff ! I like to add a bit of honey and a few squeezes of lemon. Turns out the taste is not to bad at all. The best part? How good you feel after you've had a cup or two. I have some extremely sensitive skin and my face burns and itches on a regular basis. I have nerve & muscle swelling, hurting all the time. I've used the tea for many physical situations. And, two weeks ago I decided to try the tea for a sinus flair up that had been going on for weeks, with terrible headaches. I was totally amazed at the results! My head, jaw, cheeks and eyes were so relieved, absolutely incredible. I know this post is a bit long, but my hope someone out there who has been suffering from one thing or another try this tea, I bet you will be passing on the onion tea solution to all your friends. And by all means, feel free to talk to your doctor first, or whatever medical professional you see and talk with them about the onion skin tea. Thanks for listening, and be blessed with good health!!!

More incredible tips. I' going to do three of them today! I have a good salami chips recipe you might want to try. Thinly slice8 ounces of salami. Preheat oven to 375 f, line two 15" x 10" x 1" baking pans with parchment paper and set 2 oven racks at the center-most positions. Lay the salami slices out in a single layer in the baking pans and bake for 7 - 12 minutes [depending on thickness] until they are evenly browned and rigid. Transfer to paper towels to drain and cool -- the salami will crisp further as it cools. Arrange the salami chips in a bowl or on a plate and serve with a mustard dip made with equal parts of sour cream, mayonnaise and Dijon mustard; I made it with 1/4 cup of each.

Another useful hack, I take all my vegetable peels like potato skin, garlic skin, carrot ends, onion skins, cilantro ends and everything else vegetable and I store it in the freezer. When I need vegetable broth I boil the veggy scraps until aromatic flavors are filling the kitchen, add some salt and bam you have flavorful broth!! Strain out the broth.

Yeah, I don't bother with many single-purpose kitchen items, but a garlic press is worth it. I personally recommend the pampered chef one, its design is the overall best I've encountered. With that one, I don't even need to get the annoying skin off (it doesn't get pressed through with the garlic due to some form of physics magic, yay) and it comes with tools for easy cleaning. Always rinse & get garlic bits out of the press before they can dry on, but even with that step it turns the entire task into a super simple and quick one

You can use your microwave as a steamer for virtually any vegetable. I love Brussels sprouts. I pop them in a large plastic bowl and add just 3 tablespoons of water, loosely cover and cook for 10 minutes. I also make my own cheese sauce to accompany them. I use Waitrose Pea Flavoured cup soup and add a minimum amount of boiling water to maintain a thick consistency and then add grated cheese. My variation on cauliflower cheese, I suppose.

Eating the stuff that is cooked in the plastic ain't good! We aren't designed to eat Carbs, not even Vegetables, that's just toxins, phytic acids, oxalates, and a ton of other poisons to the body, sadly, cause they taste good, but they just break down the body, leaving you with some condition / disease 😢And don't worry about the Vitamins, as they fight for the same spot as Sugar, and Sugar wins, which is ironically why people need more Vitamins, you do not need that if you avoid the problem all together 🙂

@@artcook1976No, freezing food *does not* “kill all the bad stuff.” From the USDA website: “Freezing to 0 °F inactivates any microbes - bacteria, yeasts and molds - present in food. Once thawed, however, these microbes *can again become active,* multiplying under the right conditions to *levels that can lead to foodborne illness.”*

Like the idea but when you want to use the frozen food e.g. soup - how do you defrost? Can you microwave or is it necessary to wait for the liquid to melt at room temperature?

I use paper towels to store my salad. I’ve been doing it since the 80’s. I put 2 layers of paper towels on top of the salad, then I put plastic or a lid on my bowl then store it upside down in the fridge. Lasts a week.

If you have a vacuum sealer, seal up your cheese. I put cheese in reusable resealable bags. I’ve kept cheese in my refrigerator for 18 months and it’s still good, as long as it’s vacuumed sealed after each use.
