RIP Dale Winton, I always remember this particular gotcha because he was so compassionate towards the fake bride on her fake wedding day, even though his world was falling apart after a 45k BMW had gone walkies under his supervision. A true gent and genuine nice guy.

This proves that Dale was a genuinely lovely guy. I was very sad to hear of his passing. however unhappy he was in ife I hope he is now at peace.

He was truly a genuinely nice guy...met him with my kids in Hampstead..the kids were being kids and he was being funny and kind to themabsolute gem of a human being.....may he rest in peace ..it was our honour to have met him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dale a while ago. He was a lovely man, kind and a real gentleman. I was heartbroken to hear of his death. I hope he has found the peace and happiness he deserved. X

What a good sport Dale was. After all the stress they put him through he still went to hug Noel instead of punching him on the nose. Noel tho didn’t want the hug. No no he’s saying.... Dale was more of a man than the little twit Noel could ever be. R.I.P Dale. You are missed.😘🌹

I don't think Noel was running from a hug, he was running in a half-jokey expectation that the subject of the Gotcha was angry and going to throttle him or something. That said, I do get the impression that Noel is a bit of a knob.

5 very interesting facts about Dale Winton. 1. He was the 1st person to successfully Headbutt a Prime Minister of Canada. 2. He blackmailed Celine Dion into singing nothing but Barbara Streisand songs for a whole year. 3. He was kicked off the police force for improper use of the truncheon. 4. He never wore socks. 5. He was the one who really wrote the hit Michael Jackson songs "Thriller", "Bad", "Man in the mirror". Joking aside, Dale in fairness was a gem of a guy, total sweetheart :-)

Noel was quite a git to Dale in these clips I thought. Cutting him off dismissively when introducing the clips, and then being horrified at the thought of Dale hugging him in the showroom. Homophobia was still quite rampant and normalised back then but it's still horrible to watch. However as others have said, Dale was shown in a fantastic light.
