First movie to make me cry more than once since Spike Jonze' 'Her'. Visceral, poignant and deeply moving, this film will stay with me for a long time.

watching this film is experiencing the sensation of sitting still whilst uncontrollably moving forward. this film is so personal and universal at the same time, it speaks to me about being human regardless of politics and race. this film changed my perspective on the choices people make with their lives and all the nomads' stories are beautifully documented and i'll remember them exactly the way they wanted me to.

as a nomad i say....good job explaining. I help nomads transition a lot, often they are similiar to Fern in that they have been dreaming about this lifestyle, but for whatever reason couldnt till they either force it to happen or finally later in life are able to. If you think its just one depressing parade you would be missing the entire point of the movie.

Fern’s character was so complex. The decision she made seemed absurd on surface but had much deeper reasons. This film will perpetually stay with me. Your explanation makes the complexity of story so easily comprehensible. Great video.

It is striking how movies like art, come along at just the right time.. This is an excellent piece of work and your review is intelligent and thoughtful..

Having lived the theme of the movie for over 10 years now I can relate. When you leave the myth humanity has instilled in all of us our entire lives you lose all sense of identity. The wind becomes your voice of reason. The stars a sense of the eternal wonder of life. The voice in your head but a waking state dream. And you realize how truly asleep the masses are in their lemming like existences. As I type this on my phone from the desert outside the superstition mountains in AZ the desert is so quiet, so defining I hear the coyotes greating life with their howls, welcoming yet another night of freedom and unprojected existence.

It's beautiful

I just finished watching this film. The piano selections were so well placed. And, I have lived in/near the Arizona and New Mexico deserts. And when she was driving down the PCH near Big Sur, I really missed that, having lived in Monterey and camped along the route she was taking. I am still thinking about the meaning of this movie. I don't know yet my conclusions. Maybe we are all nomads at some points in our lives. You don't need a desert or a van to experience that.

This is a very human movie about "loss".. politics aside the cinematography and editing is excellent.

If you like movies with no story this is for you. I made it about 35 minutes. Seriously, what reason are we give to care about this character?

l found this to be bleak, washed of any color and depressing. l dont see poetry, l see browns blacks and darkness in these scenes. were is the color???? made me rethink vanlife as l do not want to end up like this in my 60s. shudder!!

Is this channel dead?

A little too sanitized depiction of that life. Being on the road in your 60s and 70s is not "glamourous" or desirable, really. The jobs they do are harsh. I think IRL she would have accepted the offer of a home and safety. The movie backhandled says this lifestyle is OK when it is not how folks should be aging out in this country. Makes the yuppies feel less guilty. This is an ugly crisis.
