I'm all about changing and improving things that you have complete control over in your home. And to be honest, anything that is really difficult or expensive to change, I don't even recommend until the simple habits and products are changed first.
One of the areas you often will have COMPLETE control over, whether renting or you own your home, are the products in the kitchen. And specifically, the pots and pans you cook with.
One of the first things we did in our home to remove toxins was toss our Teflon pans. They were a much loved wedding gift, and the truth is, they were worn and scratched within the first few years of using them.
It's the same then as it is now -- the newer technologies are not always better. Sometimes, it's the tried and true classics that are not only extremely durable, but are also lower toxin as well.
​In this week's video I share about this idea of "buy it for life". It has been my ULTIMATE goal over the last year to make purchases based on this idea. Shoes? I've been splurging for the ones that won't be tossed in a year or two. Sheets? I want them to be as durable and last as long as possible.
Because when things don't need to be replaced, you actually reduce the risk of introducing new toxins to your home.
