I just lightened my trigger pull tonight. Replaced the trigger spring with one from a biro/pen 🖊️ and sanded the bolt release on the trigger mechanism with fine wet & dry to put a smooth finish on it. Went from 2.7lb to 1.5lb trigger pull. 👌 Will test it tomorrow.

I’ve heard of the biro spring trick. Interesting to see how it goes.

I’ve a old winchester 1939 model I paid $150 second hand it shoots like a modern .22 cheap sport if you don’t let your ego rule your wallet ... norinco puts food on the table for lots of people 👌 cheers for the vid

Thanks. Yes, you definitely do not have to spend a King’s Ransom when it comes to 22’s. The little cheapies can and do shoot straight; same principal as with all rifles (and shotguns for that matter) : find one that fits you and find the ammo/loads that it likes. Price tag for a firearm is totally irrelevant, as long as it works.

Wow, I got a wooden version of this in 1987 and it loved rabbit ammo. Super accurate. It just didn’t like 5 rounds in the mag. 4 would work fine, but if you loaded 5 the second one would always jam. Mine was Chinese made

They’re a good thing for the money, that’s for sure. Perfect for bunny busting.

i floated the 1980s wood stock jw15 and its a tack driver at 50 yards, a 10c piece can completely cover all ten shots. just over the car bonnet, no sand bags just leaning the front stock on a cushion. both the old model and newer synthetic stock love cci standards. but the old wood stock one shoots every bullet far far better, maybe better rifling back in the 70s 80s i dont know. but the old one out shoots all ammo compared even stingers ect the newer jw15 does not exept cci standards are awesome in both.
@Matto_Harvo2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, got one from the 80s. That wood stock is super light. But yes, very accurate rifle. Loved rabbit ammo and subsonic especially

The threaded barrel is for a suppressor and its Chinese made not Japanese, BIG difference.
@darrynworthy71294 жыл бұрын
threaded barrel option for a silencer as in england some usa states it is legal, they are a chinese copy of a bruno, we have 3, one from the 80s, accurate too, cheap yes, i do find the newre ones if cycle the bolt back fast it can extract the bolt right out, the older gun it doesnt. but normal use its fine, the one we got in the 80s i cannot fault. been shooting rabbits a long time, rabbits cant tell how much $$$ we paid. the are smooth the older gun has a wood stock, i dont think any have a floated barrel nor have i seen any advertised as such, the newer ones we paid $150 going back about 6 years ago. its more testing the ammo and picking the right one that shoots ok. and if like me you dont have much money its the cheapest that groups onto a rabbits headv at 50 yards. bruno magazines fit. they do shoot really accurate though. better than it did in this video.

Did a trigger fix; it’s really easy. I’ve recorded it all, just waiting to do a bit of shooting with it to complete the video. Hopefully soon

Did you end up putting a video up about accuracy after trigger job and floating the barrel? Keen to know how much improvement you saw. Tempted by one of these or possible stepping up to a Hatsan escort, cheap bunny rifle for the state forests
@2clicksup9103 жыл бұрын
Been a bit busy of late, and this little beast went on the backburner somehow. I did take it out on a recent hunting trip, and saw some quite acceptable results with some relatively “cheap” ammo, so this is one for the not-too-distant future. They’re not a bad little rifle at all. Just stick a decent little optic on it, and away you go. Big dollars definitely NOT required for shooting targets or bunnies or similar. As long as it shoots straight and it’s reliable, you’re good to go.

@@2clicksup910 thanks for that, good to know. I recently was given a FN/Browning trombone take down 22, but I'm not sure if I feel right trudging through the bush with it. Would prefer a scope also, and given my shot rate in state forests I'm not too keen on investing a whole heap of money on something that will just allow me to do more armed hiking!

Bro, where did you get the Rabbit ammo? I need some. My Norinco eats them for dinner. Loves them. But no one has even heard of them these days

Found them at Cleavers at Redcliffe. It was quite some time ago, so it’ll be pot luck, just like everything these days.

Hello, I´m from argentina, I have some one, can you tell me, how tall are the scope mount rings?
@2clicksup9102 жыл бұрын
They’re medium height rings, more to give clearance for my hand around the scope when cycling the bolt.

@@neilemerson5636 ok interesting some do some dont, both ours liked it in wood and synthetic stock. i didnt bed ect, and really not much plastic was touching the barrel anyway, i did improve both by double the accuracy, too before the float, i just did a basic thing, left everything else stock. i did the old model first being wood, and shot like a high end target rifle, but it shot all ammo really good. just cci standards were amazing in our 2 rifles. but the newer model did not improve over all, but the old model did. i believe you. i am not saying your a lair at all. and my in pute with your input makes others think before stuffing about too. between our 2 rifles one loved the mod far far better. aim graced with being a excellent shot, and i dont like saying it either. hate bragging, but others been saying it for over 40 years so i tend now to believe i am, well was younger, i could shoot rabbits running with a 22, dont know if i am that sharp now. practice as a kid i believe builds an instinct into your mind, never start with a shotgun builds a flinch into you that is hard to overcome. most of us old guys learnt very young , a country thing, too put meat on the table. mind you i dont see many really bad shots, you can only shoot as accurate as your equipment permits. thanks for adding in your info it all helps others, and not much on jw15s on youtube. i had a stirling at age 14 it shot great too.
