You're right on the money Norma. I grew up in Brooklyn in the 60s, and most of the cons existed back then too, except that it was way less expensive to eat, see a show, stay at a hotel, see attractions and park. And having access to a bathroom always seemed to be a problem, even back then. I live in Henderson now and love it, but sure do miss those New York bagels and pizza.

I lived in Brooklyn and worked in the city at Highline Ballroom for nearly ten years. It is definitely a love/hate relationship! You love to hate it, and you hate to love it! If you live there on less than $150,000 a year or so, you _will_ struggle. When I left back in 2014, my rent (in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn!) was going up from $1900 to $2400 per month and I just couldn't do it anymore. It was too frustrating to always feel like you were living hand-to-mouth and not really saving any money for all your hard work. I *loved* the food and the dive bars, as well as being on the very pulse of the newest music. That's what kept me there so long. But, after a while, with the costs ever rising, I needed to move on. I miss my friends, the food, and the music ... but I don't honestly miss the city.

We've gone to NYC many times since 2015 as we had family in Brooklyn. Your list is so accurate. One of the funnest things we always do is just get on the train, pick a neighborhood and check it out. So many local things that you can just blend into away from all the touring crowd. Stumbled onto places to eat and chill as well. Midwood Flats in Brooklyn has probably the best hamburger I've ever had. Also, I'd recommend Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar on W 31st between Broadway and 5th for food and drinks, we go every time!

I visited NYC last year for my birthday and it was the best trip I had ever been on!! We had so much fun!! The city life, the atmosphere, the food and the people are just a vibe!! I definitely don’t miss the subway. Lol! My friend convinced me to take the bus from the airport to the subway and I hated it lol I had like 2 luggages and it was a struggle until this lady kindly opened the door for us so that we could get inside of the subway station. Lol. One time we ended up in the Bronx and even though it was broad daylight I had never clutched my purse so tightly. I was desperately trying to get back to the right train. Lol. Other than that I loved everything about that trip and plan on taking my son next year.

Hi, Norma...; I live on a ( working cattle ranch ) in Montana and the contrast between New York City and Montana... is night and day. I actually liked and enjoyed my visit to New York City, and your list was spot on, correct... So much open space in Montana and so little space in New York City... I remember walking around tall skyscrapers, and people were telling me... there are unbelievable tall skyscrapers... that block the ( sun ) all day. That was some experience... since Montana is called; "Big Sky Country." We see the sun all day... * Excellent video and very informative, and thank you for sharing the video... * You are beautiful as ever and, of course, "Bright, intelligent, and attractive." Your friend always.., Mike in Montana P.S.: "Would I return to New York City ?"..., my answer is..., "Yes !" When you ate that huge delicious sandwich..., I had to raid my refrigerator... I am happy you took a vacation and visited a great city to visit... Watch out for those bicycles... Mike in Montana :)

Oh and when we were in NYC we got the service of Go Hybrid Pedicab. The driver was amazing. booked it im advance and paid after the tour. $50 pee person for 1.5 hours. Completely worth it. He took pics of us along the way. My daughter sat on the same rocks you sat on in that pic. She was excited to see that part of your video.

Based on Norma's recommendation, I booked the Hotel at Fifth Avenue & found it to be everything she said it was- small, but clean, comfortable, quiet & at the heart of everything! I’m from westchester, NY but now live in Vegas… I love Vegas for the scenery & weather and more chill atmosphere but I do miss NYC there is no other place like the city in NY for fun! Best thing to do if you live or wanna stay in NY is staying about 25-30 min away from the city to live less of a chaotic life style but then you can visit the city on days off. I like the city to visit on weekends not to live.

It takes a little time to get adjusted to NYC. If you thought that was crowded, that was nothing. We’re still in a pandemic and probably 50-55% of the work force is still working remotely. Plus it’s the summer time and a lot of people take off during the summer so traffic and crowds are probably 10-15% lighter than usual. There are so many pros to NYC that it would take a whole series of videos to go through them all. Nice sampling of different spots to show off the diversity of the city! Can’t wait to see how much other content you got while you were here. Too bad it was the fake you that accepted my offer to take you on a shopping spree in NYC. That could have been fun! LOL! Hope you had a great time visiting! It was so short! Glad you met up with some friends!

I visited NY on business for a number of years. What I learned over the years about NY: #1 Best restaurants. #2 You smell NY before you see it. #3 Best on and off Broadway shows. #4 Amazing city to visit, but not live there.

If you ever do another NYC video please leave Manhattan. We have a beautiful park in Brooklyn called Prospect Park, and the Brooklyn botanical Park and the Brooklyn Museum. Also the New York Botanical Garden is in the Bronx. Anyway I’m glad you had a nice time in my hometown.

What a great change in content. Thanks. You can go anywhere since you don't have Vegas in your channel name. Well, you can go anywhere if you did; it just makes more sense this way 😂 Fernando (SuperfriendsNYC channel) went to Vegas a few months ago & now lots of us watch his channel too. I hope you get NYC people to watch yours now.

I’ve lived in Brooklyn for almost 10 months already. Even though I have a decent paying job and work a lot of hours still feel like I’m hemorrhaging money. Tolls and speed cameras are brutal. Also the metro will rip you off when you use the turnstile if you miss the sensor. You definitely need to budget for tolls and traffic fines. Speed cameras everywhere. Tolls everywhere.

Just scan your debit at the turnstile much easier and then there’s always a door you can push on the other side to let tour friends and family in for free!
