@@starhalv2427 I’ve been trying to use that but I felt it was causing problems. They are both (it said to have main mod and patch loaded together. Patch loaded first seems to work better) near the bottom of load order just above ‘ethics and civics classic’ because I heard that works better. But most of the time the patch breaks the ai causing unexpected consequences. Some games a random amount of AI’s will never move their military units or declare war. Sometimes they will just ignore diplomacy all together. And I’m not sure what’s responsible for this last one but they seem to sometimes also be wasting resources by constantly tearing down buildings for no reason I can see. Edit:It might be because of the planetary diversity mod but it’s not worth using starnet patch over it. Especially since glavinous ai and the original mod work as intended.

@@FrostReave I'm really hoping the mod author updates the patch. It made the galaxy less of a huge bloodbath.

I played against this AI, and it keeps on kicking my ass... on normal difficulty.

No worries, you're still good at the game, mods don't count. You could mod everything into being apples and thus make the game impossible. Game is bad, its that simple.

@@BigMisterApple ...The equivalent of a Age of Empires Forest Nothing....Food Nothing. With the market, it would be problematic but not impossible. Now, if the game was pre-market, THEN there'd be trouble.

I think normal would be fun, with advanced starts off. A fair and competitive game. But I'll still probably have to play a machine empire. If you can't beat them, join them.

It's far from unbeatable, but it is quite the step up compared to the snorefest that is the standard Paradox AI

Gigastructures mod keeps jumping the shark in its creations more then a fantasy of a 6 year old. As a result you get an "inflation of epicness":D

I enjoy playing a machine empire and going off the deep end, converting every star system in its entirety to my need, and making them inhospitable to filthy organics in the process. Though I suppose they could settle the ringworlds. But they'll have to get through my battle planet first. The fact that I can say they have to fight my planet is why I love the Gigastructures mod. If there's a patch for this AI mod to use Gigatructures, the AI and I could annihilate the whole galaxy trying to kill each other. That would be amazing.

@@swarmking55 One time I got a Systemcraft with 90% evasion. I mostly spammed pulsed plasma, (tier three) afterburners, but I don't remember what mod it came from.

Quick means he only had abouth 30 hours recording instead of the usual 150.

That's not my experience, and I've been running Starnet with almost 200 other mods.

Michael Abreu perhaps one of your other 200 mods changed that behavior.

Diplomacy is essentially meaningless since guarantees, defensive pacts etc are all broken whenever the AI feels like it, and improving relations is close to impossible. The AIs don't really gang up on the player, but a common problem is that they build huge fleets and then fight each other until they commit economic suicide. Still, Starnet does make wars very fun so I think its a matter of preference.

@@user-jk7hq5cq6d I guess my first playthrough was really rare then cause I’m still on it and basically what happened is I was able to form a federation with two empires who were way stronger than me, and we spent the next 200 years or so battling wars every 10 years against our rivals. Every war I’d conquer more and more space with the help of my allies until eventually my rivals would be so weak that I’d demand vassalization, win a war to subjugate them, then integrate them into my empire. I’m on year 2470 something with my federation going strong and the last thing we have to worry about is the awakened empire who has like 5 100k fleets and all their star bases are 70k+

There's another option: same mod maker made another version of it called "StarTech". It focuses research and economy, to the point that he added disclaimer saying that he recommends StarTech over StarNet.

@@hadescerbex9984 thats cause your never good at managment especially in paradox games if you think your good your a lier. Theres no being good at running any nation you just make less stupid choices the more you learn.
