I was crying so much during the ending scene of Bates Motel. I literally had tears running down my face. It was so tragic yet beautiful. THIS is the mother that Norman finally reunited with in the end, not the violent and murderous mother in his mind. He finally accomplished the only thing he ever wanted - to eternally be with his loving, gentle, beautiful mother who was waiting for him in Heaven. The show ended beautifully ❤️

Amen. And same goes for him. He finally goes back to his truest self. At the end of the day, he's just a boy who loves his mother. And Norma's a woman who loves her son. There's nothing wrong with that, but they encountered so much wrong along the way because of their past. It led them to their own demise. But at least we can say they are finally together, that's what true love is. Family is always with you.

I think it was originally supposed to have 7 seasons but by the time Season 2 ended the ratings weren't great so they had to cut it back to 5 seasons. Carlton Cuse originally stated that they pretty much ripped off 'Twin Peaks', which had 30 episodes and they would do the remaining 70.

Everyone their connection is complicated they never wanted to hurt each other or cause harm to each other physically or mentally they just got dealt a bad hand in life. The trauma they went through made them hold on to each other too close so much they slowly broke each other until they're were both just ashes. Until they we're shells of who they once were. They loved each other but they just needed help that no one could provide in time. They were doomed to die at each other's hands because in their minds they were all they had. They loved each other just not how they should of how they were meant to.

My husband and I started watching this series years ago when the 1st season started. We followed on up until half way through season 2 (at the time it was only season 1 and 2 available) . Why we stopped watching i don't recall but a few weeks back we decided we were going to start at season 1 again and go all the way to season 5. I must truly say that this is one of the best series i have ever watched. From the 1st episode until the last , I was so emotional and sad , not only because of the events that took place in the last episode but sad as well that it was the last episode and there would be no more Bates Motel episodes to follow. Truly brilliant-a must watch if you haven't seen it yet.

So heartbreaking, beautiful, and poignant. I'm glad this was towards the end, it would have been too much to handle earlier. The end is always so painful but significant. They were far from perfect, but deep down, they loved eachother. That's why things turned out the way they did. Pain and love can confuse eachother. But they tried their best. At least, we can say, in the end, they were together. As it always has been. As it always will. That is love.
