I started trail running 3yrs ago. I had 1 night half marathon where it rained like 2hrs before the start. Because of the humidity I couldn't keep my heart rate down below 160 (I was 46-47), so after 2 miles I gave up running. I walked 11.4 miles to the finish. I enjoyed the entire experience because I learned. It's not about your time, it's about your journey. Like in everything else... at the end of the day... NO ONE CARES about YOUR time but YOU. Enjoy the experience. :)

I can relate so much, a good swim, cramps soon on the bike doubting myself, good start on the run, but I was getting passed by like crazy, finally took some rythmes. I had to ask my girlfriend to walk zombie hill as well, but I was bad company, talking was taking a lot of energy, even listening was too much lol. That black shirt means so much, it was all worth it :) Good job Mark impressive performance!

I love this. Fantastic achievement, Mark, even if GTN coverage made the race even more difficult to get into :-)))

Congratulations Mark on an amazing achievement, would love to have seen more footage of you two going up the mountain. How did your top speed compare to the guy you interviewed before the race?

Inspirational stuff Mark. yeah you do get emotional watching this one, but it makes me so motivated to get to the line in my first Full IM in 2021 before my 40th. I'm doing it for my Pop who has dementia and I'm also raising money for Dementia Australia until IM Port Macquarie 2021. So far in the last 9 months ive raised $2000 with a goal target of at least $5000. Fingers crossed across the board. Thank you GTN

Congratulations and well done. I knew you would be able to finish but did not think you would find it so hard!!!.. New to the sport, I finished my third ever triathlon two weeks ago at the Sweden Ironman. I'm new to swimming and not great at running either but it is thanks to you and your support team at GTN that I achieved my goal also. Congratulations again and thanks for your support videos and inspiration.

Oh wow, what a great video! It almost made me lose my senses and enter the race . . . . but not quite :-) Huge congratulations, on finishing in such a great time, and for pushing through your dark moments.
