I've been out fishing in a 100 foot boat when a storm whipped up and the waves crashed over the bow. There were times when we were looking up at the ocean around us. It makes you recognize how mighty small you are.

My uncle served in the Coast Guard in the North Atlantic in WWII escorting convoys. His wife said he was like an animal upon his return 2 years later.

My father-in-law wanted to take a ride up to Point Conception, I had a 17’ boat. We got out past the protection of the islands and the waves kept getting bigger and bigger. By the time I managed to turn the boat around(no easy task) the waves were approaching 20’. I thought we were going to die!

I sailed the North Atlantic with the US Navy. Two times in November. I had to stand a ''sound & security'' watch(midnight-:04:00hrs.) in the dark in heavy seas. I was 19 years old & became a Man that night.

That water's rough in that video. No one could ever survive it unless you were on that large ship which wouldn't capsize from the high waves. Even a small yacht wouldn't be safe.
