In other videos, they talk about how malnourished their country and 'especially' their army is. Even tho they're expected to give 10 years to the service, their soldiers aren't considered heroes. They're virtual pariahs when their service is over. It's horrific! 😪 They could not believe how American soldiers are fed, pensioned and revered. 😪

I recently saw a series of documentaries on NK on one of the cable learning channels. In one, a defector spoke about how malnourishment is literally stunting children's growth. His family was originally among the elites, but something happened and they were all sent to a concentration camp when he learned that children he thought were so much younger because they were so small were the same age as him. After being there a while, a new family arrived when the children were so much bigger than he was and they were also his same age.

Yes, even in America there are foods the average person can’t afford to eat. It’s funny how it’s that way worldwide, although we certainly do have a wider variety available to us than in many countries. I just wish foods like Korean food were more accessible here. We have a very high Korean population in a town near mine and it’s still rather difficult to find good Korean places. In fact, a Korean BBQ restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat and I just had a date day there with my husband recently. They have a beef and daikon radish soup that is heavenly.

@@123darkpassenger You're partially right. North Korea is a very isolated country, mainly because the government keeps threatening its neighbors and the world at large has basically stopped trading with them. Hardly any country is self sufficient in agriculture anymore because of globalization, they tend to specialize in a handful of things and then import the rest. North Korea is simply not skilled enough and doesn't have enough farmable land to feed everyone, and it produces more food to just plant lots of rice rather than to use the land to graze livestock.

Actually any aids or financial Aids will go directly to government instead. Government will decide on distribution. And most of the time, they get biggest pie. And they don’t tell citizens that it is from USA. They will always say it is from their own government. That is why USA cannot send aids. They have to find a way to go directly to citizens. But it is not easy.

I absolutely adore these guys. When this pandemic is over we should band together and raise enough money to give them their first ride in an American fighter jet. There are 2 options, either 30 minutes or 1 hour long flights. They break the sound barrier and create some sonic booms, do barrel rolls, fly upside down and all kinds of other crazy maneuvers. They even let them take over the controls of the flight for a while. Can you imagine the look on their faces?? It would make a fantastic KZfaq video as well!

This is wholesome to watch. I've been in situations where I didn't have any food, so I can somewhat understand what they felt....but I will never TRULY understand the hell it was for them. You can see the psychological effects they still suffer from today from experiencing that extreme starvation for so long. I think that's what makes this so heartwarming to watch....to know that they are finally being adequately fed, and are able to eat as much meat as their hearts desire now that they've found some freedom.
